It's hard to believe that this is news.

Binro the Heretic - 2010-02-13

Sadly, this is not only news to some people, it is a blinding revelation.

Dan Druff - 2010-02-13

Yeah, but those people won't be watching this.

theSnake - 2010-02-13

is it wrong to wonder what she would look like with long hair

themilkshark - 2010-02-13

It's like finding a picture of Stone Cold Steve Austin back in his WCW days when he had long golden locks. It's just wrong.

Dicknuts - 2010-02-13

I'm pretty sure that almost everyone in the room during Palin's tea party speech realized their movement, their party, their politics and pretty much everything they espouse is stupid and wrong. But they can't just admit that. They have to keep acting like nothings changed.

FABIO - 2010-02-13

First universal rule of conservatism: never, ever, under any circumstance, ever admit you were wrong about anything ever.

pastorofmuppets - 2010-02-13

Bush got that. Nailed it, in fact. It was always a calculated thing, and he even cracked enough jokes that you knew that he got it.

I'm not convinced that Palin or the tea party people get it. In fact I think Hanlon's razor sums them up pretty well.

pastorofmuppets - 2010-02-13

By that I mean "don't ever admit that you're wrong, even when it's important that you should"

HP Lovesauce - 2010-02-13

that's the thing thought isn't it? it's not 'if' they're lying to you, but 'how'. allegiance goes to the party that least insults your intelligence.

Conservatives are everything Frank Zappa said they were in the 80's.

Camonk - 2010-02-13

Conservatives are everything Thomas Hobbes said they were in 800 B.C. or whatever. They don't change. That's kind of their thing.

BorrowedSolution - 2010-02-13

It kind of turned into one of those Family Guy jokes where they beat off a dead horse, hoping you'll eventually giggle in an awkward way.

pastorofmuppets - 2010-02-13

If only it were a joke.

phalsebob - 2010-02-13

The news isn't that Republicans are hypocritical obstructionist douchebags, but that democrats keep going along with them, trying to appease them (as she makes painfully obvious). Who was it that kept saying that appeasement never works? Was it W. Bush? Wisest words he ever sputtered.

pastorofmuppets - 2010-02-13

She's right, of course. And even in my own personal life it's frustrating to hear people say with one side of their mouth that this government did nothing to stimulate the economy and with the other that too much was spent doing that.

But if she thinks Democrats don't get punished for voting against party lines, she's nuts. It's a two-party system; that's how they work.

kingarthur - 2010-02-13

Except I have to suffer through Gene Taylor's douchebaggery constantly, so I'm inclined to believe that there's now a larger EVERYTHING MUST BE CONSERVATIVE push going on in politics and that some but not all politicians are afraid of rousing that particular beast. For the record, I blame the radio and cable news propaganda empires that have been allowed to be set up for the right.

kingarthur - 2010-02-13

Oh, and conservatives. I blames the conservatives.

THA SUGAH RAIN - 2010-02-13

pastorofmuppets - 2010-02-13

Ha! The first article on his homepage is him bragging about how he's trying to prevent the Navy from retiring old ships. What a big dog.

I blame ratings. Outrage, conspiracy, cowboy presidents...all good for ratings. And appearance is everything. Kerry is basically Santa Claus on a motorcycle, but all we heard while he ran was that he shot a kid in the back. Because people are assholes, and the mere mention of something scandalous, apart from any evidence or any witnesses who agreed, is more entertaining than any number of war medals.

pastorofmuppets - 2010-02-13

that was meant to be a reply to kingarthur

Also the old adage, Republican or Democrat:
"It's not pork if it's going to MY district!'
