EVERYTHING IS FINE

For me, this is one of those few really great movies that I was glad to have seen, but that I really wouldn't want to sit through again.

Five stars because it's great, but if you haven't seen it, do yourself a favor and don't watch it streaming online. Rent the DvD or pay the ridiculous price for it. But you would be doing yourself a disservice to not watch under the appropriate quality conditions to really experience it.

on your FUCKING PHONE

Well, Netflix streaming to a TV is okay, EXCEPT when I watched it that way, I lost my connection right in the climactic scene at the end.

Adham Nu'man - 2010-03-02

Yeah well, screw you people and your fancy first world Netflix technology.

I still have to walk miles barefoot through the snow to the video-store to rent my films.

StanleyPain - 2010-03-02

One of my favorites and always will be.

One of the great things about the DVD is that before it starts you go through an adjustment thing for your TV's brightness/contrast/etc so that you can view it how it was meant to be seen.
Apparently it was Kubrik's favorite movie.

Beautiful, beautiful movie.

BaconAficionado - 2010-03-02

Holy crap, I always thought that the main character was played by Tim Robbins. Now granted, I never made it more than 10 minutes into the film.

BaconAficionado - 2010-03-02

I was also surprised to hear this. Imagine the possibilities.

"George Lucas was a fan of the film and, after seeing it, wanted to hire Lynch to direct Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi. Lynch declined, fearing it would be more of his own vision rather than Lucas'."

5 starring it for being it, but not watching it on google vid. After you've seen the remastered print in the theater, you just can't.

five stars for how fucking terrifying this makes parenthood look. i'd have smashed that little cow-fetus bastard to death with a rock after 2 minutes of that grotesque mewling.
fun fact: lynch started making this movie three years after the birth of his first child. "of course daddy loves you. you didn't turn his life into a surreal and horrifying tailspin. not at all."

This isn't true why does everyone repeat it
