Why the fuck is this on the science channel (aka the How It's Made channel)?

Scynne - 2010-03-27

I'm not going to lie, I think this is one of the best shows on television. And I watch it. A lot.

Also: My country did this.

Umaro - 2010-03-27

Correction: OUR country did this.

*High five*

Prey Cam.

Someone really needs to post the episode where the pudgy armchair army guy is paired with the guy that has decided to permanently cosplay as a character from samurai champloo. Its like poe in real life.

I stopped watching television 3 years ago, and occasionally catch little glimpses of it here on poe, if only to remind me of - why I stopped watching television.

and also: wtf?

fermun - 2010-03-27

It's nice that the redneck white men call the black men "boy"

oddeye - 2010-03-28

What does he do after he catches them? I mean other then anal violation and stringing them up.

dead_cat - 2010-03-28

Oh man, a big part of the attraction is wondering how the Mantracker guy is going to say offensive/bizarre shit during an episode. The other is wondering if the episode's "prey" will turn out to be complete weirdos.

And when those two collide, fucking PERFECTION. You know it's going to be great chemistry when the network has to keep censoring the tracker's comments about whoever/whatever he's trying to catch for that episode.

dead_cat - 2010-03-28

One thing I do wonder about the show is how they manage the filming process without giving away the Trackers' or Trackees' positions. Also, how much of it is scripted.

The producers have, on occasion sent out dummy prey and camera teams. Some of the scenes are also re-shot after the chase has been completed.

Alberta represent!

Camonk - 2010-03-28

Canada and the US become more and more alike. It, uh, seems to be going the wrong way, if this show's any indication.

PS I bet it's a lot harder to evade someone when you've got a cameraman along. Especially if he's standing out on the trail kind of shrugging.
