to be fair, this is a bit beyond "sweded" - it's a shot-for-shot remake cut together from 15 second chunks submitted to the site (http://starwarsuncut.com/). I am pretty sick of everything star wars, and have been for awhile now, but definitely going to a screening of this.

My problem with Star Wars Uncut is that they never really came up with a clear set of standards for re-doing the scenes, so some of them are legitimately funny and made by people on a .95 budget, and then some of them are made using way too much technology (people with access to fancy editing software, hi-def cameras, computer effects, etc.) so the attitude of the project is all over the place.

This almost worked and I'm giving it an extra star for the spirit of the thing. All they needed was one rule that said "entries that obviously didn't try will be disqualified" to make this really fun.

'Hardware Wars' was the original Star Wars 'Sweded', and in fact was the original 'Swede', before it was called such.
So, uh ... fuck you!

The best thing about this is easily all the different ways people try to replicate Chewbacca. Dog in a wig, girl with hair over face, mop on head. Just using an action figure is the cheap way out.
