The "interviewer" is way too amused. Actually anyone who is amused at all by anything these two do could be called way too amused.

IrishWhiskey - 2010-04-23

I like South Park, and think every show and website that reasonably can should show pictures of Muhammad so that any individual showing is no big deal.

That said, this whole thing reeks of a publicity stunt rather than a real issue. Online death threats are almost as common as spelling errors, and Comedy Central had every reason to censor it, not to protect against terrorism, but to boost attention and ratings.

The rating is based on the video, not the editorial opinion.

unknown rebel - 2010-04-23

You have no idea how offensive what they did is. They are literally as sophisticated as their audience.

RomancingTrain - 2010-04-23

Death threats are more offensive than anything these Libertarian chucklefucks could do.

stage - 2010-04-23

unknown rebel: the only offensive thing about this is how much Mohammed and Islam is held to a different level of standards than anything else.

Potrod - 2010-04-23

Is uknown rebel the first person on poetv to ever take religion's side? One of the dumber things to agree with religion on, too.

cognitivedissonance - 2010-04-23

God, I hate BoingBoing and their desperate cock sucking. They're everything I hate about the Internet.

And I really hate hipster beards, regardless who wears them. I don't care how actually cool the person wearing them are, I hate hipster beards. It would be interesting to do a study of facial hair as a useless and impotent response to right wing politics, only they're right wingers, so stfu self.

APE_GOD - 2010-04-23

So Matt Stone is a hipster now.

Okay.

fatatty - 2010-04-24

Is there a difference between a hipster beard and a regular beard? Does having a beard make you hipster or does having a beard while hipster make your beard hipster? Can a hipster have a non-hipster beard?

unknown rebel - 2010-04-23

Next week: waterboarding Jesus whilst shitting on the Stars and Stripes and screaming CUNT NIGGERS over and over again whilst playing the national anthem arranged for Fart Kazoo.

IrishWhiskey - 2010-04-23

...you did see the original episode involving the Muhammad episode right? Because they literally had Jesus and Bush shitting on American flag while a fart-kazoo played, and no one made threats over it. And many episodes have involved "cunt" and "niggers" used on air in way more offensive ways. Either you are trolling, making some sort of point I don't get, or just hoisted yourself on your own petard.

phalsebob - 2010-04-24

So, it's offensive is what you are saying. Got it. So do we ban it?

StanleyPain - 2010-04-23

My problem with South Park is not so much that the show isn't funny anymore, it's certainly better than most shows that have tried to milk the gag for so long. My problem is that Parker and Stone have managed to cultivate this image of being renegade left-wing, liberal comedian types who always "sock it to the right" despite the fact that they're so soft on the right that application of this image is meaningless. They've done very little, if any, actually socially conscious comedy that takes any meaningful swipes at the right wing in this country. If anything, the easy humor route of bashing left-wing types has served them MUCH better than anything else. They go after really easy targets, which really undercuts this stupid myth that they're somehow so edgy and out there.

APE_GOD - 2010-04-23

You are the first person I have ever heard describe south park as left wing or liberal.

WHO WANTS DESSERT - 2010-04-23

Stone and Parker are to the left as Steven Colbert is to the right. They make gross strawmen of both sides in every episode, then Stan breathlessly lectures the audience that the truth...is in the middle. Although in their case the middle is Libertarian bullcrap.

APE_GOD - 2010-04-23

Ugh.

Why even show the interviewer. Why name her. Why give her a presence whatsoever.

splatterbabble - 2010-04-23

Cleavage.

Potrod - 2010-04-23

boingboing is awful.

Quad9Damage - 2010-04-23

I just watched the episode. To me it felt like the bleeps were timed and part of a running gag instead of real censorship.

But of course I just read that the original "Super Best Friends" episode was pulled from streaming on the official site.

Camonk - 2010-04-24

I'll give you forty dollars (USD) if you can find two more boring, annoying douches in one place. (This site doesn't count. Sorry oogaBooga and SolRo)

La Loco - 2010-04-24

Try looking in the sound booth of any radio station. I hate these guys as much as I hate the wacky banter of commute time djs.

splatterbabble - 2010-04-25

Well, seeing as how I don't have a twin, I'll have to go with James Hetfield and Lars Ulrich.

Spit Spingola - 2010-04-24

This thing with Muhammad and South Park has been quite the crazy clusterfuck.

fatatty - 2010-04-24

Since it's so cool to hate South Park now I'm pretty sure that makes me doubly cool for hating hating South Park.

Also fuck fundamentalists.

Keefu - 2010-04-29

can't i hate both

James Woods - 2012-12-23

You can't hate whatever you want, dear.
