yay!

voodoo_pork - 2010-05-14

Portal.

Caminante Nocturno - 2010-05-14

Aperture sciences looks like a stressful place to work in.

THA SUGAH RAIN - 2010-05-14

From Portal theme song:
Look at me still talking
when there’s Science to do.
When I look out there, it makes me GLaD I’m not you.
I’ve experiments to run.
There is research to be done.
On the people who are still alive.
And believe me I am still alive.
I’m doing Science and I’m still alive.
I feel FANTASTIC and I’m still alive.
While you’re dying I’ll be still alive.

spikestoyiu - 2010-05-14

Cool.

memedumpster - 2010-05-14

Five for the wonderfully depicted work environment.

Now, what's the catch? Really, nothing is actually ever free on the Internet. Is this thing now ad supported or what? Is the computer voice going to tell me I need freecreditreport.com?

chumbucket - 2010-05-14

worse, it will sing that you need freecreditreport.com

SteamPoweredKleenex - 2010-05-14

The catch is that (1) you have to install Steam (no biggie, it's just a gateway to buying video games, and I usually disable it from running on startup) but more importantly (2) you'll want, nay, NEED to buy Portal 2.

Urburos - 2010-05-14

What Steam said.

Heywaitaminute.

memedumpster - 2010-05-14

I was wondering about Steam. There are lots of horror stories about it online. Things like it's necessary to have it online and running to play anything / it eats bandwidth for no reason / you can lose access to all your games on Steam's whim / having the client running ruins framerate and other performance / it spends DAYS on downloads that lock you out of games / it rapes your mother.

I'm pretty stuck up about what I let touch my computer and especially about how it uses the Internet. Steam worries me in that regard. If it was just a buy and download portal, that's cool, but it seems like it wants to be too much more.

Assuage my fears, poe gamers, so I can convince myself to play Portal.

SolRo - 2010-05-14

You have to be convinced to have fun?

Fuck you.

Camonk - 2010-05-14

Seriously. Play the game or don't. I don't care; I already played it and it was bad fucking ass.

Syd Midnight - 2010-05-14

If your computer was made in the last 6 years, Steam runs comfortably in the background. It doesn't do anything spywarey. You have to run it to play Steam games but the horror stories are exaggerated, it's pretty benevolent for a DRM/Store program.

Besides, this is the PERFECT opportunity to try out Steam. You get one of the best games ever.

memedumpster - 2010-05-14

Thank you, Syd, you're right, if I don't like Steam this wont cost me anything to find out.

The rest of you lot need a girlfriend.

SolRo - 2010-05-14

Steam also lets you play games offline, if they have an offline mode.

Played through most of sam and max during a long ass car rides.

The God of Biscuits - 2010-05-16

The 5 stars is for Portal, but I didn't hear a single scream, let alone a Wilhelm one.

fluffy - 2010-06-25

It was at 0:33.

threads - 2010-05-14

When will you all just accept that GlaDOS just wants what is best for us?

SolRo - 2010-05-14

She does, but I still want to know what she did with all the office workers.

manfred - 2010-05-14

I thought you aren't allowed to submit ads?

Spoonybard - 2010-05-14

I suspect chet will make an exception here

WHO WANTS DESSERT - 2010-05-14

manfred - 2010-05-14

those are funny ads, this is serious business

Syd Midnight - 2010-05-14

Chet is one of Portal's writers, I really am sure he'll make an exception for his own game.

He should make it an EDailyDeal too, because it's a humorously good deal

Sphinx - 2010-05-14

Tramp stamp = bad judgment

athodyd - 2010-05-14

for a moment i thought that tattoo said BLACK MEN on it which probably would not have been cool

Toenails - 2010-05-14

Downloading right now.

Thanks for the heads up DESSERT.

Cube - 2010-05-14

You mean "YOU CAN FINALLY INSTALL STEAM ON YOUR COMPUTER FOR FREE!"?

IrishWhiskey - 2010-05-14

No, the message is you can get a game for free, and you can now have access to a wide array of games on Mac. This lack of attention would get you killed in an Aperture Test Chamber.

Cube - 2010-05-14

You can easily pay for games when you install the Steam(R) platform. You're just a click away from giving money Away(TM).

Cube - 2010-05-14

Steam(R) also makes it easier to Control(C) your gaming behavior and Encourage(TM) to Spend(R) more money on products on Steam(R).

Remember: you're not actually Buying(TM) a game, you're Borrowing(TM) it from Valve, until they choose to Anal Rape(TM) you and revoke your Rights(R) to game you "Bought(R)".

Baldr - 2010-05-15

Now I understand why you had to go in the incinerator.

THA SUGAH RAIN - 2010-05-15

Are you the dumbest person on poetv, cube? "CAN YOU BELIEVE THIS ASSHOLES SELLING ME THINGS?!"

Cube - 2010-05-17

No, I'm not. People who pay for nothing are.

People, who install controlling software on their computer, because they get an old minigame for free, are dumb.

Now that you mentioned it, I'm actually one of the smartest persons on PoeTV, but I'm constantly pained by smaller minds that can't grasp the big picture of things.

Does that satisfy your question, Abu?

bongoprophet - 2017-02-01

So Cube, you ever get around to getting Steam? Peace

Cube - 2017-02-01

Nope! Haven't upgraded to Win10, either.

I did recently play through Portal 2.

Let's just say I had to resort to alternative methods of getting to play the game, since I wasn't able to play the game without installing Steam, even when I had a legally bought installation disc.

Game was pretty ok, controlling software sucks dicks.

This "you don't own your hardware, you just have our permission to use it" shit is getting out of hands.

nemeses9 - 2010-05-14

the caek is a lie!!!!!11 XD

Old_Zircon - 2010-07-09

This was really fun for the 24 hours before my steam account was deactivated for no apparent reason.

Burnov - 2011-08-13

Are they expecting you to buy fucking hats for this?
