I don't really like the method, unless his owl was really bad, like it was peed on by the cat or something, and then after the baking soda was going to go in the washer.

For just freshness I'd put the owl in a paper bag, sealed in, then put that paper bag in the bag with the soda.

My carry around plushie is named Squeaky, he's a Dog's squeaky toy, and I just toss him right in with my clothes when he gets dirty.
