"They have high energy and don't really know what they're doing"

Wait, is he admitting or denying that this is child exploitation?

IrishWhiskey - 2010-05-16

He's admitting. Both parents try and claim that from their perspective it wasn't sexualized or a stupid idea, but they never try and provide a defense for how it looks objectively.

Aside from blaming the Chipettes (which I'm all for), the parents put all the blame on the 8 year-old girls. Those girls didn't design and make the stripper uniforms, and even if they did, as parents its their job to say no. If there was a parenting exam, saying "Well its in the media, and she wanted it, so really I did nothing wrong it getting it for her" should be an automatic fail.

James Woods - 2010-05-17

You guys are just idiots. When they wear their suits to school, and it's just dance moves that you don't understand. Sluts is a part of their sport.

Caminante Nocturno - 2010-05-16

The fact that their children are imitating something they saw in the chipmunk movie is far more offensive than the idea of them imitating a music video.

Rodents of Unusual Size - 2010-05-17

Remember when the preview to that catastrophe was first posted and people said "nothing good will come of this"?

Yeah, that continues to be true.

Seris - 2010-05-16

"their accomplishments are being overshadowed by the people who are taking this out of context"

"their accomplishments are being overshadowed by people who don't understand... the dance moves"

UH-HUH, YUH, I SEE WHAT YOU'RE SAYING, UH-HUH, KEEP GOING, I LIKE THE DIRECTION YOU'RE GOING IN, UH-HUH

Camonk - 2010-05-16

So it's okay to dance like tramps in the costume, but not go to school in it? Also those costumes are standard for that activity, and there's ABSOLUTELY NO PROBLEM WITH THAT.

Thank god for this place. I get disgusted over stuff like that, and start to feel like maybe I'm just old-fashioned. Just cause I worship the sun as magic and get terrified at eclipses.

memedumpster - 2010-05-16

The Empty Eye of Ra looks with the void upon the children and grows turgid, He Who Self Progenates shall take vengeance upon the parents.

joyofdiscord - 2010-05-16

There is NO WAY that spiky-haired dad is not a full-blown pedophile. "Kids get excited with the music, *dreamy look* They start moving their bodies *aroused, smirking shrug*" What are you going to do? Kids will be kids. Kids will be sexy, sexy kids.

La Loco - 2010-05-16

Is there an award for worst parents?

Rodents of Unusual Size - 2010-05-17

Well there's the Darwin Awards. We can hope they join that show soon.

Spoonybard - 2010-08-22

I don't think an argument can be made that these kids won't breed

poetry publishing guide - 2010-05-16

Didn't have time to watch this; I was too anxious to click on "Sexy Miley Cyrus Hooker Dirty Lap Dance EXCLUSIVE Video (click)"

But anyhow, thank goodness for the moral bulwark that is Inside Edition!

Hooker - 2010-05-16

If I ever become a celebrity, I'm going to film myself with a fake beard on in front of a green screen and say "I'm shocked!" Then just let any outlet use it for whatever purpose they want.

garcet71283 - 2010-05-23

I volunteer to sit across from you in a suit and nod, thoughtfully, in approval.

pastorofmuppets - 2010-05-16

All I'm saying is, if you were unable to see this objectively, then you'd know where I'm coming from.

themilkshark - 2010-05-16

Music videos aren't shown at all anymore. Are they illegal?

pastorofmuppets - 2010-05-16

Turns out there are more efficient ways of introducing music to people who can't be trusted with it.

flotsam - 2010-05-16

I read some of the Youtube comments, and the consensus is that people who negatively judge the video just don't understand the world of dance. Apparently, as long as you are in the world of dance, it's okay to dance and dress suggestively because it's artistic. But if you dare venture outside of the dancing world with a halter top and Beyonce's moves, then you're being whorish.

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2010-05-16

Hmmm... You may have been reading MY comment, but if so, you/ve been reading it wrong.

Let us proceed from the assumption that this is not intended as a sex show. There's no doubt that dancers view this sort of thing differently than nondancers. That doesn't make it "all right", but it's not parents pimping out their kids, and it's not child pornography. It's a major breech of taste... but It's a breech of taste, nothing more.

These parents probably think they're here to defend their children, not themselves, and in doing so, they're taking most of the criticism when they had the least to do with it. If this is like most dance schools, they probably drove their kids to the classes, and paid for the classes, but they probably didn't actually see the routine until it was all worked out, and THEN what are they supposed to do? Tell their little girl she's acting like a slut and pull her out of something she's justifiably proud of?

The teacher/choreographer was the one who fucked this up. That's the person who should be on TV, taking the heat instead of the kids and the parents, admitting to an innocent mistake, but unfortunately, that's the person who's got the most to lose in the atmosphere of hysteria that this has taken on.

flotsam - 2010-05-24

I wasn't referring to your comment exclusively, but to the comments on Youtube. I was just commenting on how people interpreted this routine.

Cleaner82 - 2010-05-16

Oily pervert douchebag wonders what the fuss is about vis a vis his exploited daughter.
