I was asking it in a rhetorical sense, as in "Why does something like a bikini bar exist, when a person could just as easily go to an all nude review at a strip club". I'm guessing that they spring up for the same reason pasties do; an end-around puritanical American mores enshrined as local law.
It's just that I'd never heard of such a thing before.
Around here you go to a bikini bar because they don't charge cover, the drinks are a lot cheaper, and the food is edible. It's a compromise between the people who want to eat and drink and the people who want to look at tits.
