What a shame.

chumbucket - 2010-06-04

looks like a great movie

TheQuakeSoldier - 2010-06-04

2027? Idiots.

GravidWithHate - 2010-06-04

Yahtzee to the white courtesy phone. Mr Yahtzee Croshaw to the white courtesy phone please.

IrishWhiskey - 2010-06-04

SquareEnix is doing the cutscenes and trailer, while Eidos is doing the game. So there's at least some hope this won't be the generic Michael Bay/Final Fantasy abortion it appears to be.

2027. That's just 17 years. Or "Jurassic Park and Bill Clinton" ago. I think they're expectations of technological development are a bit unrealistic, although not nearly as much as expecting Detroit to be hope to major corporations and/or people.

SolRo - 2010-06-04

the invisibility cloak is a bit much, but everything else is somewhat feasable in the next 17 years.

there are already working prototype cybernetic limbs and eyes that connect directly to a persons nerves. The current wars, and injured soldiers, also provide a decent funding flow to keep the projects going.

poorwill - 2010-06-04

The invisibility cloak is pretty plausible. Well, maybe not as a *cloak* cloak, but the technology will be with us in ten years, easy. They've already made invisible tanks.

Camonk - 2010-06-04

Oh boy a sequel to a shitty game that was the sequel to a horribly overrated shitty game.

oddeye - 2010-06-05

This game will be almost as shitty as the dump I will one day take on your face.

boner - 2010-06-04

What's the purpose of pre-ordering a videogame?

HankFinch - 2010-06-04

Most of the time they offer exclusive content, like if you pre-ordered Just Cause 2 you got a special set of guns or Mass Effect 2 special cerberus items. Basically its an incentive to buy the game before one of your friends says it sucks and you decide not to buy it.

Cleaner82 - 2010-06-04

There is no purpose to pre-ordering a videogame.

Scynne - 2010-06-04

I, for one, am only sad about this trailer because I strongly doubt the game will be remotely as awesome as I am now desperately hoping for it to be.

Andonyx - 2010-06-04

Ah, The answer to the question nobody was asking, "What if Deus Ex was directed by Hideo Kojima."

freedoom - 2010-06-04

so the new Deus Ex is Ghost in the Shell?

SolRo - 2010-06-04

too much clothing, not enough boobs

Would be nice to see ghost in the shell get a serious, high budget, game project.

Mad Struggle - 2010-06-04

Ghost in the Shell with Jeff Goldblum!

I'm not going to lie, the trailer is nice.

memedumpster - 2010-06-04

Bros in the Shell.

pentheus - 2010-06-04

Detroit, eh?

I guess land *is* currently cheap there...

voodoo_pork - 2010-06-04

NEEDS MOAR POOR BLACK PEOPLE

Meerkat - 2010-06-04

BIONIC NIPPLES!

Candlejackv616 - 2010-06-04

Looks like its borrowing slightly from Mass Effect to be honest, mostly the music in the trailer. Looks alright though for what it is, the 2027 shit made me laugh my ass off.

facek - 2010-06-04

Aren't they both borrowing from Bladerunner?

Candlejackv616 - 2010-06-04

Touche.

Mancakes - 2010-06-04

Please, please, please don't be as bad as I'm fearing.

FABIO - 2010-06-04

Looks good...

...once you get past the first 30 seconds where Square watched Brazil and decided to apply the worst parts.

Fearfully optimistic, though it's definitely not a good sign that the makers figured they needed to literally spell out the significance behind the name "Icarus".

Candlejackv616 - 2010-06-04

I read an interview with one of the guys behind the game, I think it was the game designer? guy went on and on about Icarus, to the point my eyes hurt from all the eye rolling.

Goethe and ernie - 2010-06-05

This game looks thoughtful and politically literate. The notion of corporations wielding the real power is intriguing and new to me.

Candlejackv616 - 2010-06-07

I see what you did there.

PegLegPete - 2010-06-05

Some cliche parts but that was an awesome trailer, I'd love to see a movie of the setting and atmosphere portrayed. To me, rarely anything is better than good science fiction. I love that music as well.

Callamon - 2010-06-05

I like that they named him Adam. This is a prequal before JC Denton. It also looks like they are going to put some real effort into this game. Invisible war had potential. The problem was with budget/time.

Caminante Nocturno - 2010-06-11

RON PAUL 2027
