This is awesome.

Camonk - 2010-06-30
I hate this so much. Are there people who like this? Why would they? It's not even bad hip hop. It's mumble hop.
Eroticus E - 2010-06-30
Wikipedia calls it "drag."

Camonk - 2010-06-30
Wikipedia can lick my taint.

Eroticus E - 2010-06-30
Alright then. Mumble hop it is.

kennydra - 2010-06-30
this is a "shreds" thing.

that guy is deaf.

these are my explanations for this. don't take them away from me.
La Loco - 2010-06-30
I hope one of your explanations was correct. It seems like they are doing an even more slowed down version of chopped and screwed music.

Judging by the other videos I found from an sxsw performance they're a bunch of ironic hipster boogers.

tmavomodry - 2010-06-30
When I first heard noisecore I though "well I guess music has truly run out of ideas". How was I to know that the real "last idea" in music would be a room full of bored, silent kids watching some dude slur a rap over a Casio?

"purple drank" tag?

Okay, this is really terrible, but Salem aren't always this bad. Their "Frost/Legend" single is absolutely awesome and sounds like an instrumental hip-hop version of the Cocteau Twins. The problem here is the drugs. I read an interview with these guys (in "Butt Magazine" no less) and they sounded like they were living through "My Own Private Idaho." They offered the interviewer some speed without bothering to go off the record. Jesus, people.
memedumpster - 2010-06-30
Whoa, WHOA... these guys are on speed!?

exy - 2010-06-30
Any compunction I might have had about pushing the shiny red button just vanished.
memedumpster - 2010-06-30
For comparison, the album version.

Camonk - 2010-06-30
Stop it. I hate you.

memedumpster - 2010-06-30
Then you absolutely DO NOT want to read this article.

Udderdude - 2010-06-30
There is so much good music out there, why would anyone pay attention to these retards?
augias - 2010-06-30
Some people have never picked up a piece of equipment in their lives and really have no clue this is literally and exactly what music sounds like when you don't know what you're doing with your gear.

Jet Bin Fever - 2010-07-01
This bullshit is absolutely terrible muddy garbage. I hope these guys lose their vision to vodka eyeshots and lose their bowel control sitting on the bass amp at an Animal Collective concert.

I don't think both of those keyboards are plugged in.
JimL2 - 2010-07-04
"Salem is a band that lives in the shadows that darken the edges of its group mythos. Nameless and faceless until recently, they bring to mind the secrecy that shrouded the Knife for the longest time, only taken to a more horrific degree through the brutal imagery and video clips they choose to let speak for them."

ha ha ha ha ha ha

Syd Midnight - 2010-09-15
Ha ha ha in our Slayer t-shirts and jackets with Misfits patches, me & my teenage friends could have kicked all these kids asses. Bang the head that does not bang, you whippersnappers

I was at a Salem concert once. It was exactly like this, and then I got picked up and thrown out for being on drugs.
