Honestly, probably not PoE worthhy material, and I'm only two minutes in to part one, but I love sci-fi more than a person should, and the soundtrack is Tangerine Dream, so five stars.

I disagree. This is Poe worthy.

One can only watch so many Beavis & Butthead, cat, & juggalo vids, before you need a break from such banality.

I hit full screen and zoned out to this for a while. Awesome.

Syd Midnight - 2010-07-07

"hit full screen and zone out a while" would be a good tag

When I was a young child I had a glossy coffee table book that was nothing but this sort of sci-fi illustrations with a kind of "History of the future" text. I got it for a quarter at a garage sale and I'm pretty sure that it was the most influential quarter I have ever spent.

Five stars for nostalgia.

My father had something similar that was like a history of space warfare from 2100-2800AD or whatever.

I blame that book for my poor grades.

My dad had a subscription to Omni, all futuristic text predicting Mars colonies by 1995, Bussard ramjets, flying cars, and robots with big silver tits.

Me and RoUS had one of sci-fi, art books as kids as well? Did everyone have them and were just too afraid to admit it??

I recognize some of those pictures as novel covers. The one with the dolphins is Startide Rising and the giant, UFO/mushroom-cloud shaped, white cities is from an anthology of short stories.

I only expected to watch the first couple of minutes and ended up watching the whole thing. Once again Portal of Evil TV turns into Portal of Awesome TV.

"Spacecraft, 2000-2100 A.D"

That was the fucker! Gotta order me a copy of that for my soon to be firstborn.

pastorofmuppets - 2010-07-07

Awesome. My sci-fi exposure is limited, but this does all remind me of time spent playing Beneath a Steel Sky...

Rodents of Unusual Size - 2010-07-08

Ah, memories of my nerd childhood. Crammed together with newer, nerdier memories of my current life. Oh Poe, how I love you.

Scientists now predict the future to be 10% more futuristic than previously thought.
