I believe that this was actually written by Ed Wood's first girlfriend, who was played by Sarah Jessica Parker.
It's too bad Elvis was in such bad movies. He could have had at least a Frank Sinatra or Dean Martin type acting career. In this movie he plays a frogman. One review said "Even a fan could be forgiven for hoping he did his own stunts."
Um, yeah, except Elvis couldn't act his way out of a wet paper bag. That's why any excuse for him to sing instead of talk or emote was gladly taken whenever the opportunity presented itself.
