Why would eating tacos give you diarrhea? Honest question here, cos theres not much tex-mex cuisine in my country and I keep hearing this "joke" and i dont get it.

Taco Bell is guaranteed diarrhea. Probably has something to do with the genetically modified grade d ingredients they use.

Augias, a lot of people who go to Mexico for the first time get a terrible bout of the shits, which is popularly known as "Montezuma's Revenge", that has resulted in people associating Mexican food with diarrhea. Also, beans and the many spices found in Mexican and Tex Mex food will loosen your stools. I wouldn't say you would have diarrhea, but your shit can get fairly liquid after a large meal (and with portion sizes in the US, you are guaranteed a meal will be fucking humongous). So, I guess that's where the MEXICAN = DIARRHEA conubium comes from.
