I'm on the fence. I want to know, does it really make those Flash Gordon noises when you inhale?

They usually have nicotine cartridges, too. They don't make all of the puffy smoke that the commercial shows.

The "smoke inside" angle is dumb, but maybe they wanted to avoid making health-related claims. Going outside to smoke is nice. I don't like smelling smoke in a restaurant.

Anyway, these are sort of like putting your mouth around the business end of a humidifier. Some people like it for what it is but they're not like cigarettes at all.

I had kinda assumed the point of these things was to satisfy the oral fixation that some ex-smokers claim they have to deal with. After actually watching the commercial, it appears the point is just to look like a douche.

No tobacco, but these things are filled with nicotine, so you do get your fix. The smoke is just theatrical glycerine smoke or whatever it's called. I don't know if they're really meant to get around indoor smoking bans, but the press keeps running stories about kids smoking shit like this, and hookahs and flavored cigarillos.

...and there are flavored e-cigarettes though they might be banned in some places (flavored smokes are attractive to kids)

I know someone who has one.

1.) Doesn't last as long as cigarettes because addicts hit it non-stop like a crackpipe of holding until it runs out (whole pack equivalent gone in hours), then back to cigarettes.

2.) Does have an odor, sort of an artificial fruit smell combined with burning plastic, which is actually pretty nasty. You wouldn't want to eat around one and they do make more smoke than you expect one would.

3.) Watching someone pretend to smoke LED crack nonstop is the upside, if you find that funny.

Better e-cigs dispense with the silly LED.

They're never 100% like cigarettes. Some e-liquids are very close.

There are fairly small models with 650mAh batteries and 2.5 mL cartridge volume, which will last about 6+ hours of fairly non-stop vaping.

memedumpster's friend doesn't know how to clean the atomizer. Once polyfill goes dry and burns on it, it will taste like plastic. But this is easily avoided (don't let the cartridge polyfill go completely dry) and rectified (there are numerous methods of atomizer maintenance).

@freedom - Fuck yeah that's the point of smoking! I'd freebase that shit if only they would make it illegal!!!

@paster - I smoke outside cause the smell is awful. Although I'd argue that there's something about the yellow haze wafting inside a diner that just makes the greasy piles of shit taste better.

@Mickerus - I cure my oral fixation with a toothpick or a pen to chew on. You hit it on the head by claiming that only a douche would purchase a smoke-emitting flashlight.
