A small child is somehow granted god-like powers and decides that everyone must wear costumes and eat ice cream for dinner and whistle happy tunes or else they will throw a tantrum and Nobody Wants That. It's happened twice in the Twilight Zone and several times on Star Trek and also IRL.

I recently re watched it too. I read the book "Nothing to Envy" which is interviews with defectors. Some truly fucked up shit. I now feel guilty when I eat and I chew people the fuck out when they complain about their subway sandwich not being perfect.
This is a really sad program, in the end all the escapees can't fit into society and only want to sit around and eat all day since they have access to food for the first time in their lives.
