The good ol crosswalk defense. It excuses a multitude of sins. But seriously, as a biker, I am appalled by this biker's behavior.

As someone who used to bike a lot and got yelled at and almost run over a couple of times by idiot drivers, including those old farts in gas-guzzlers who thought that they did indeed own the road, I have no sympathy for the jerk cyclists of today who think that they can go wherever they want and don't have to pay attention to drivers or other cyclists or traffic signs - there's few things as infuriating as seeing some dumbass on a fixed-gear zipping through traffic because he thinks he has automatic right of way, or some idiot wearing poufy Spandex gear self-importantly yammering away on his cell while plowing through a city park.

The whole who's right who's wrong argument should be preceded by: one of the two is an old man who had a nasty fall backwards and almost busted his melon on the pavement, the least you could do is get off your fucking bike and act concerned you bloody douche-shit!

Then you get to the outer suburbs where you have people pretending they are these bikers. Absolutely zero concept of the rules of the road. They are like cos-playing bike messenger. They are an entirely more potent breed of asshole smug fuck face.

Not much politeness coming from the biker here. He doesn't apologize or even get off of his bike, just a half-assed "you okay?" Furthermore, he seems to be egging on horrified bystanders with his ridiculous "they cancel each other out" statement.

If he was quick he would have said he was getting into that car.

in california, crosswalks are implied at an intersection, even if they're not marked. Pedestrians always have the right of way in a crosswalk, marked or unmarked.
