Even worse than I suspected.

I like this reimagining of Rugal as a diminutive extreme sports enthusiast with a backward baseball cap and a penchant for rape.

Xenocide - 2010-09-08

When you stab him, he turns to lava and explodes. He's that extreme.

LetsFistAgain - 2010-09-09

I actually thought that was the American sports team when i first saw him, wich sadly would have been a step up for this film.

What a crappy looking movie.

balistic - 2010-09-08

The Street Fighter movie seems so much better now.

Riskbreaker - 2010-09-08

The only dimension this movie is stock in is the mid 90s.

Shame Maggie Q is such a bad actress. Just sayin', it's a shame.

Cratovic - 2010-09-09

It's like some....horrible amalgam of Mortal Kombat and the Super Mario Bros movies...but without any redeeming features.

Hello, I'm a movie director. I'm going to acquire the license to one of the more famous and colorful fighting game franchises. Despite this franchise literally having the biggest selection of characters to choose from, I'm going to use absolutely nothing from the games themselves except for the names.

Also, I'm going to make sure that the vast majority of the male cast looks like Jamie Kennedy.

Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha!

LetsFistAgain - 2010-09-09

I actually thought the scene with Rugal in Aikido pants was a nod to another earlier SNK badguy namely Geese Howard.

And then they had a Flaming Baseballs vs Katana fight.

BHWW - 2010-09-09

A movie based on a fighting game is awful! Shock and surprise!

Still, this looks like a real turd even by the usual low standards of such adaptions.

kingarthur - 2010-09-09

I'm determined to check out Ray Park on Celebrity Net Worth now. I'm not expecting to find much.

StanleyPain - 2010-09-09

In other words, Mortal Kombat is still the best movie ever made based on a fighting game.

FeeFiFoFoTheFifeFifeBrown - 2010-09-09

It's a weird thing to focus on, but I liked that Mortal Kombat had such cool sets. Sure, it looks like they just took everything on the studio backlot and garnished it with the fruits of a Spencer's Gifts shopping spree, but it beats dark alleys in Vancouver and shit.

Videogame movies would be so much more fun if they didn't think looking all grungy would somehow make them more credible.

klingerbgoode - 2010-09-10

It sure feels like I was watching that for 90 minutes, not 10.
