The retards responsible for this travesty make two gratuitous cameo appearances AT THE SAME TIME.

jangbones - 2010-09-27

with that and the credits, clearly they're as narcissitic as wiseau

boggy84 - 2010-09-27

They were teenagers when they did this, and I think just about every video game-playing teenage boy of that time would have wanted to make a game like this. These kids actually made it happen! You have to give them credit for that, at least.

The programmer went on to write a bunch of console/arcade emulators that were pretty awesome for their time, then got hired by a real game company. The artist, at least as far as a few years ago was... Still doing this shit.

Vaidency - 2010-09-28

Wait a minute, this doesn't just LOOK like it was made by a couple of highschoolers?

I have to actually tip my hat to them for having the dedication and skill to make an actual working piece of software, even if it is ugly and derivative. I sure wasn't making anything that functional when I was a teenager.

klingerbgoode - 2011-02-08

One of the dudes went on to write the emulators Nesticle and Genecyst, too! Nesticle was great because it let you edit the graphics from within the emulator. I remember giving everybody in river city ransom big floppy dongs when i was 11.

Innocent Bystander - 2010-09-27

Great cutscene near the end.

urbanelf - 2010-09-27

5 for the mere possibility that "1, 2, 3, kick it!" is supposed to be part of the music.

spikestoyiu - 2010-09-27

I guess you've never heard a Beastie Boys song.

spikestoyiu - 2010-09-27

Did they ever catch Psycho Ed? It's hard for me to rest knowing that he may still be out there.

citrusmirakel - 2010-09-27

And this the game that turned them into billionaires.

Redford - 2010-09-27

Maybe I'm a little crazy but I think the best thing about this is the "GO" arrow.

FeeFiFoFoTheFifeFifeBrown - 2010-09-27

Me, I prefer the profoundly non-badass "awoooo" that you're treated to when you highlight the brown dude on the character select screen.

Old_Zircon - 2010-09-27

It's hard to choose one thing, but I really like how all the characters' forearms are about 30% too long.

themilkshark - 2010-09-27

Ed's Wiener Stand.

Old_Zircon - 2010-09-27

Between that and the Beer Hut, Ed must do pretty well for himself.

YakooMarkTwo - 2010-09-27

I know it's a subtle difference, but I think this is more of a Final Fight rip-off than a Double Dragon rip-off.

MacGyver Style Bomb - 2010-09-27

I remember getting this out of one of those cardboard shareware displays at CompUSA.

Jet Bin Fever - 2010-09-27

Another masterpiece of the bygone floppy disk era.

kingarthur - 2010-09-27

Perhaps a new era involving thumb drives?

Caminante Nocturno - 2011-01-08

It's still better than Maximum Carnage.
