"Unlike those other people who have studied, I have no qualifications for this Job, therefore I am perfect for it. Vote for me!"

Are Americans so distrustful of "those dahmn shmart pay-pole with their educashun' and shtuff" that this is a solid marketing strategy to pitch to the voter base? Is she trying to appeal to Juggalos?

BorrowedSolution - 2010-10-24

Critical thinking is a threat to everything she holds dear. And it goes beyond the juggalos. For some reason evangelical christians really, really don't like science and critical thinking.

I can't imagine why.

Wander - 2010-10-24

It's not just evangelicals (although that is obviously who she is playing towards here.) I live in Liberaltown, MA, and tons of people here hate critical thinking, they just do it through new age bullshit and pseudo-liberal beliefs. America has a big problem with rational thought.

Oscar Wildcat - 2010-10-24

Point is well taken. Wingnuts come in two handednesses, Left and Right. But as an engineer, I can tell you that the right handed threading is the dominant one.

IrishWhiskey - 2010-10-24

The reason I don't think of them as equivalent is 1) new age left-wing kooks don't make up 30% of the country, unlike fundamentalists, and 2) they tend to be peaceful, inwardly focused and waste their own time and money rather than wanting to take over and impose their beliefs on others. There are certainly exceptions, but even at its height the hippy movement didn't accomplish much.

Cena_mark - 2010-10-24

Its not the Right dismisses the importance of higher education its that they take what you do outside of college more seriously than college. Think about it, most politicians are pretty old. Why would you worry about what these guys were doing when they were 18-22? When you see a guy in his 30s or 40s waxing on about highschool we assume he's a loser. Well why not the same for college. The Lieberal media made a huge deal about Obama's college experience, but why not his post college experience? Its because, he never ran a business or worked a real job.

IrishWhiskey - 2010-10-24

It would have taken three seconds to check wiki for his employment history. But I guess that's three more seconds that facts are worth to your arguments.

Cena_mark - 2010-10-24

Way to miss my point, Kentucky Bourbon, I know what Obama did. I'm just critiquing the Media's infatuation with their liberal candidates college days at Ivy League schools.

memedumpster - 2010-10-24

KentuckyBourbon is not an insult. No, not even WildTurkey.

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2010-10-24

If you spend enough time on the internet, you become convinced that the Tea Party is not based on any actual political philosophy other than "Government bad!". It's mostly based on a visceral hatred of what they think a liberal is. Now, it may be a mistake to base my impression on the internet, but you don't see real political discourse in the You Tube Comments. You see emotion, expressed in bigoted, idiotic epithets like "Demoncrat" and "Lieberal", and the typical glee in "that ought to make their heads spin!"

Demoncrats and Lieberals look down on you because they're educated, and those who aren't living off the government have not had to work for everything they've had the way you have, and they look down on you for that. That's why Newt Gingrich is always mentioning elites. Our young Christine knows right where that button is, and how to push it.

Old_Zircon - 2010-10-24

Juggalos are way too smart to fall for this shit.

Caminante Nocturno - 2010-10-24

I'm Christine O'Donnell, and I'm emblematic of an empire in decline.

citrusmirakel - 2010-10-24

Ding!

Jet Bin Fever - 2010-10-25

I wish you were wrong.

CharlesSmith - 2010-10-25

Don't worry, the rest of the world doesn't.

Oscar Wildcat - 2010-10-24

That's nice dearie, now get back in the kitchen and cook me some dinner.

Jellyneck - 2010-10-24

You are absolutely not me. Stop saying that.

pastorofmuppets - 2010-10-24

You're not me. I was in the top of my class in Yale's witchcraft program.

Lan Tianhe - 2010-10-24

this

twinkieafternoon - 2010-10-24

I also went to the Yale Divinity School. Class of '87. What year were you?

mashedtater - 2010-10-25

< 3

Quad9Damage - 2010-10-24

You are not me. If you were me you (I) would trip down the stairs.

Volbard - 2010-10-24

I don't know what state Yale is in. I've never read the constitution, but I'm fanatically devoted to it. Same with the bible. I'm you.

blase - 2010-10-24

I didn't go to Yale either, but I think taxes are bad. Elect me, and I'll ALSO promise a national holiday week off in July. Wow, that easy.

minimalist - 2010-10-24

"I know how tough it is to make and keep a dollar"

i.e. I've never held down a real job and I hope I don't go to jail for skimming

IrishWhiskey - 2010-10-24

I didn't go to Yale. I lied about going to Oxford but got caught, so now I'm pretending its good not to have qualifications.

I know how tough it is to make and keep a dollar. I mean, the Feds and the SEC are already busting down my door trying to take back those campaign contributions I funneled into personal expenses.

I'm you. In the sense that I'm just as qualified as you. So vote for me on the basis that literally anyone should be considered qualified for elected office. We need to start early to lay the ground for Sarah Palin in '12.

IrishWhiskey - 2010-10-24

Not meant to be a reply there.

takewithfood - 2010-10-24

I didn't go to Yale (but I did claim to have attended Oxford, when in reality I just took a single course from some crappy "institute" that rented space from Oxford - same diffsies, right?).

I didn't inherit millions like my opponent (so I'm sure you understand why I had to misuse ,000 of my own campaign funds to help pay for my rent).

I know how tough it is to make and keep a dollar. (I mean, did you know that you can't just stop paying your mortgage or your taxes when you don't want to anymore? Turns out that gets you in trouble! I know, right? Math is hard.)

I'm you! (Tee-hee!)

memedumpster - 2010-10-24

You are not me, Elvira is me (except with bigger tits).

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2010-10-24

Not only is Christine O'Donnell not me, but I think she may have SMALLER tits.

Riskbreaker - 2010-10-24

I wonder who will be cast in her porn parody. They have to make a crossorver with Lisa Ann as Sarah Palin.

Xenocide - 2010-10-24

DID I MENTION I WAS YOU? BECAUSE I AM WEARING YOUR SKIN RIGHT NOW. YOUR FREE WILL IS AN ILLUSION. YOU ARE ALL O'DONNELL.

themilkshark - 2010-10-24

I don't think she has a chance at winning. Family Guy's dad and the Madtv Asian Lady made fun of her.

fluffy - 2010-10-24

I suspect that people will see that as some sort of backhanded endorsement.

augias - 2010-10-24

Bush went to Yale? Derp?

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2010-10-24

She's not a good liar. It's one of the things I like about her. So may politicians of both parties lie with aplomb. She looks awkward as hell in these ads. When she says "I'm you", she always seems to choke on the words.

takewithfood - 2010-10-24

Seriously. Watch the video without sound and just watch her body language and expressions. It feels like she's been crying between takes.

Senator_Unger - 2010-10-24

It looks like her brain needed a couple seconds to start up before she could start talking.

Raoul Duke 138 - 2010-10-24

Is this the anti-masturbator lady?
Yeah, you're definitely not me.

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2010-10-24

I'm John Holmes Motherfucker, and I approved this message... by masturbating to it.

MrBuddy - 2010-10-24

Personally, I'm sick of mockery.

they'reforyou - 2010-10-24

I'm you. I menstruate like you. I have boobs like you.

they'reforyou - 2010-10-24

Alternatively: "I'm of you, always."

urbanelf - 2010-10-25

"fuck you bitch" is a tag.

I'm just sayin', is all.

kingarthur - 2010-10-25

So you're not from an Ivy League blue blood family. Welcome to most of the country. Doesn't make you special.

kennydra - 2010-10-25

she looks like the stripper one from csi (the original).

Rodents of Unusual Size - 2010-10-25

"I like to equate education with being out of touch. Because I'm as dumb as a fucking bag of rocks".

oddeye - 2010-10-25

Don't need no fancy book learnings to run no goddam union, I'll tell you what.
