Modern music people, please explain what is happening here. Why is the nice man with the tattoos holding out the middle-eastern woman like she's a talisman to ward off evil?

augias - 2010-11-06

In the wild, the cunning woodsman relies on his trusty minority to confuse and bewilder the hipster. Thus confused, the hipster plays it safe and needless bloodshed is averted.

Maru - 2012-03-28

brilliant summation augias

Old_Zircon - 2010-11-06

The amount of projection going on in this clip just boggles the mind. Henry Rollins will never cease to impress me with his ability to be the biggest douche in the room.

La Loco - 2010-11-06

Who would want to fuck with Henry Rollins? What good could come of it?

Old_Zircon - 2010-11-06

I missed the part where anyone fucked with him. He walked into the store and started talking about how everyone in there was an elitist, someone said "hey, Henry Rollins is in the store" and he immediately went into a big, stupid Rollins diatribe. Say what you want about those hipsters, but Rollins seems like a genuinely loathesome person in this video. His lack of self-awareness must be just monumental.

La Loco - 2010-11-06

I'd like to see you say that to his face.

Old_Zircon - 2010-11-06

The last thing I'd want to do is talk to Henry Rollins.

La Loco - 2010-11-06

You don't tug on Superman's cape, you don't spit into the wind, you don't pull the mask on the old lone ranger and you mess around with Rollins.

NewHeavenSalesman - 2010-11-06

Fights like this are always sort of unsatisfying, as both parties have clearly come out of it feeling like the winner, as Rollins's generic self-righteous (and kind of gross) "LOOK AT THIS WOMAN SHE HAS HAD SUFFERING" has no effect on the detached irony of record-store denizens.

mashedtater - 2010-11-06

that makes me really sad because if i saw henry rollins, i assume i would be excited and tell him how cool i think he is.

the end of this ..what the hell? is this that horrible date show? it needs the stupid pop up comments like where he looses his date's affection with a countdown thing.

Old_Zircon - 2010-11-06

But he isn't cool. He really isn't. Every video I've seen of him in any context since the late 80s is like this. He's one of those people who gets off on the "me against the world" posture and has built his entire identity up such that he can feel that way as often as possible.

poorwill - 2010-11-06

Old_Zircon, I just added you to to my imaginary poetv buddy list. Rollins defines narcissistic douchebag. He is VenomFangX coasting on a less despicable worldview.

BorrowedSolution - 2010-11-06

This man is a whiny little cunt. Want the kids to think you're REALLY uncool and behind the times? Just pull this on them.

P.S.: Being an oversensitive cry-baby has never been 'with' the times.

Old_Zircon - 2010-11-06

And he's been one since the beginning. Damaged is a great album, but his lyrics are completely laughable on it. Even in high school we all laughed at them.

Old_Zircon - 2010-11-06

BorrowedSolution, he DOES want the kids to think that because then he can do this more often.

Jeriko-1 - 2010-11-06

You were that guy who's sweater buttons he flicked on cable access, weren't you?

"I'll get him back. On the internet. He'll pay!"

Old_Zircon - 2010-11-06

Link to that please

StanleyPain - 2010-11-06

I have no idea what the fuck is going on in this clip other than Rollins kind of freaking out, but I love Rollins so I don't care. Old man has earned the right to be a little "hey you kids" as far as I'm concerned.

Riskbreaker - 2010-11-06

My dislike for hipsters greatly surpasses my dislike for aged cocky rockstars. Point for Rollins.

standard8mm - 2010-11-06

Go Go Henry Power! You mighty morphing power shower!

glendower - 2010-11-06

AWKWARD

Urkel Forever - 2010-11-06

I don't know who to like less?!!?!?

sinuendo - 2010-11-06

My stars are for the Wipers track playing at the perfect time.

kingarthur - 2010-11-06

I love how you can both laugh with and at Henry Rollins at the same time.

Paracelsus - 2010-11-06

Either he's an enormous asshole on a genuine level, or he's adopted that persona as part of a marketing gimmick. Probably a little bit of column A, little bit of column B.

OldScratch - 2010-11-06

Noble of Henry Rollins to share his monumental struggle against young hipsters, and his world changing musical legacy with this Iranian dissident. She has a lot to learn from him.

potvin - 2010-11-06

This is like when Homer Simpson about hippies.

potvin - 2010-11-06

^^talks about hippies.

pastorofmuppets - 2010-11-06

I don't know who won, just that I lost.

midgetrampage - 2010-11-06

what a prickjob

Syd Midnight - 2010-11-07

Angst over becoming old and uncool is what makes you act really old and uncool. And unfortunately for Henry, he's one of those people who are physically unable to simply relax and not give a shit.

joelkazoo - 2012-02-18

I met him after a spoken word show in Fargo a few years back. Remember what he wrote in "Get in the Van": "People in Fargo are nice, but boring." Oh, I'm sorry Henry! I thought you knew that we're not a bunch of assholes who cut ourselves with beer bottles and punch each other in the face for fun! And he's a LOT shorter than you'd expect him to be. I'm of average height (5'11"), and he was about chest-high to me. That being said, he was nice enough to speak to everyone one-on-one and sign autographs after the show, albeit he did seem to want to be somewhere else the entire time.
