The Huggable Universe - 2010-11-07

Out of all of the episodes of Kitchen Nightmares, whether British or American, this episode might be my favorite.

"I've never met anyone I believe in less than you."

The episode is "Sebastian's." Available on Hulu.

Old_Zircon - 2010-11-07

Brought to you by Lean Cuisine meals-in pouches. Gordon would be proud.

IrishWhiskey - 2010-11-07

He did. He explained that what matters to him is having a restaurant and feeling good about himself, not improving his restaurant and being a good cook. So Ramsey realized that his advise wasn't wanted or needed.

Of course that's definitely a case of winning the battle and losing the war.

Old_Zircon - 2010-11-07

The chef's job is to cook, and clearly there is room for improvement.

Gordon Ramsey's job is to be an insufferable, condescending douche, which he has clearly mastered.

Match: Ramsey.

Old_Zircon - 2010-11-07

Wow, I hadn't seen this episode yet. Douchiness fully justified!

Jellyneck - 2010-11-07

Cooking frozen pizza dough in a restaurant isn't a problem for a guy whose aspiration is to sell frozen pizzas to supermarkets.

Mike Tyson?! - 2010-11-07

Is this from the DVD or what? Where's all the bleeps?

fluffy - 2010-11-07

Yeah, that shocked the hell out of me. I'm not used to actually hearing Ramsay swear.

Stars are for creepy staring eyes.

Old_Zircon - 2010-11-07

This is so much better with the context of the whole episode.

Rodents of Unusual Size - 2010-11-07

This episode was amazing. Gordon Ramsay is rarely beside himself but leave it to America to show him true pig ignorance.

Xenocide - 2010-11-07

I usually don't like Kitchen Nightmares because I think Gordon is too hard on the people he's working with.

In this episode, he was as harsh as he's ever been, and it still seemed like it wasn't enough. Good lord, that restaurant is a mess.

Valkor - 2010-11-07

The owner doesn't want to have any food that requires fresh ingredients or skill because it makes it more difficult to franchise.

The staff is pretty awesome though.

Riskbreaker - 2010-11-07

There are some many "fancy" restaurants out there being run by fools like this guy. Douchebags with huge egos and little to no cooking skills. I can only imagine how many dozens of restaurants are in a similar state.

MacGyver Style Bomb - 2010-11-07

I get the impression that this guy isn't really Italian.

RomancingTrain - 2010-11-07

Ah, the George W Bush style of argument: keep saying the stupidest thing possible until your exasperated opponent has to leave before he has to punch you in your stupid fat face.

Nithing - 2010-11-07

Calm down Gordon, it's just a bit of dinner.

citrusmirakel - 2010-11-07

Bulbed!

Baldr - 2010-11-07

It must feel odd to be the living embodiment of the Dunning-Kruger effect.

kennydra - 2010-11-07

sadly it probably feels pretty awesome.

kingarthur - 2010-11-07

Five stars for Gordon cupping his hands over his mouth for emphasis and shouting as if from a great distance.

Sexy Duck Cop - 2015-10-14

I once got into a long argument with a Communist who was certain the Marxist Revolution was coming any day now. After 40 minutes of being very, very polite, I just lost it, cupped my hands over my mouth, and yelled "YOUR POPULAR REVOLUTION IS UNPOPULAR."

Caminante Nocturno - 2010-11-08

I don't think Gordon got through to him.

For his sake, I hope nobody ever gets through to him.

sosage - 2010-11-08

What's always infuriating about this show is how long it takes these chefs to get a fucking clue and realize he is trying to help them out.

Callamon - 2010-11-08

This guy only has his restaurant because his wife makes 300k a year and supports him.

Syd Midnight - 2010-11-08

I used to work for a boss like that, at least he had enough pride to make his own dough and sauces.

It's a clash of worlds, Ramsey is trying to help the guy be professional, but the guy doesn't WANT to be professional, he just wants a hobby. That seems a common problem on the show, if mediocrity is desired then Ramsey's efforts are just pearls before swine.
