Apparently this is actually a whole genre of games that date back to at least Sega Saturn.
I remember playing one on the nes at my friend's sleepover birthday party. I vividly recall the fluorescent pink of the 80s-style manga girl's nipples, which was all you got. It was a pretty good party.
At any second I expected the victory screen from big rigs over the road racing to pop up. YOU'RE WINNER!
