this is pretty much exactly the game Space Giraffe tried to be, only done right"

WHO WANTS DESSERT - 2010-11-22

Space Giraffe was fantastic just for making an aging beardo realize his own irrelevance very slowly and publicly.

Deplorable - 2010-11-22

Makes me want to play Robot Unicorn Attack.

Udderdude - 2010-11-22

Shit like this is why MS moved the indie games section out of the way in the new interface they just added.

Robert DeNegro - 2010-11-22

It's no Platform Masters, that's for sure.

Scynne - 2010-11-22

...I guess I have to buy a 360 now.

Adramelech - 2010-11-22

It's like a mutation of every bad indie game trope come horribly to life. The only thing missing is a Philosophy 101 epilogue in black and white where the kitten was Man's hubris or something.

Sudan no1 - 2010-11-22

Not trying to be a twat here, but it looks like a flash game. With notifications about xbox parties.

Dread Pirate Roberts - 2010-11-22

That's the entire point, Sudan. This is Portal of Evil.

chumbucket - 2010-11-22

If you took the time to get Halo out of your disc drive and look at the indie titles you'd understand.

Sudan no1 - 2011-09-03

belated reply here: I don't have an xbox, so I don't understand the depths of crapshit in the store, you are right.

fluffy - 2010-11-22

So it's basically SF Cave with shitty techno music? OMG I MUST GET AN XBOX FOR THIS

Oktay - 2010-11-22

That was horrible and I watched it till the end. What do I win?

pastorofmuppets - 2010-11-22

TUMIKI Cave

jaunch - 2010-11-22

As in xbox indie developer myself (Alien Pyramid Challenge-- WOO!!!!) I can see the genius of this game.

See, for the indie games, there are basically 2 strategies to making a popular, profitable game: either have a legitimately awesome game, with awesome graphics, music, gameplay, etc. Or, have a weird game that makes people say "WTF? LOL!".

The first strategy is out of reach for most solo programmers. They aren't artists, and can't afford great graphics or whatever.

But, anyone can go with strategy #2. Just have as weird a game as possible.

This game looks like it only took the developer a week or two to make from scratch, but will probably make him thousands of dollars over its lifetime, because it makes people say "WTF?! LOL!" Those types of games get blogged about, or, have their videos posted to sites like this.

My 2 cents.

Good point! I'm making a little iphone game and I'm struggling with my total inability to draw.

Ok, lets draw a space ship.... Hmm, well that looks like crap, is everyone tired of the "doodle" art style yet? How about fake vector art, can I get away with that? Fuck it, the game is now poorly drawn demon heads in space.

pastorofmuppets - 2010-11-22

"poorly drawn demon heads in space"

Stop stealing my ideas.

Meerkat - 2010-11-22

I'M WIGGIN

Buggerman - 2010-11-22

Oh I see... Techno Kitty... because that blob thing moving around the screen meows when it hits stuff. That is the sound cats make.
