IF YOU LET ME GO YOU CAN HAVE THE PIZZA!

LOL!!!!!

Raggamuffin - 2010-12-04

"What kind of pool game would you use this for?"

Wombles - 2010-12-10

"I send it to everybody"

joelkazoo - 2010-12-04

I always found it hilarious the guys who would come in the house, see Chris Hanson, and just leave without saying anything, not in a panicked "Oh, shit, he's got me! RUN!" way, but in a "I'm not gonna give this asshole the satisfaction." way.

Did he ever catch female predators?

joelkazoo - 2010-12-04

I meant Hansen, of course.

Adramelech - 2010-12-04

Female predators use class rooms, not chat rooms.

American Standard - 2010-12-04

Yeah, women don't do it this way. I remember one cop being interviewed about "To Catch a Predator" stating they've never once busted a woman looking for chatroom hook-up pedo-sex.

Eroticus E - 2010-12-04

This reminds me: Where the hell did Amber Forever go?

Bort - 2010-12-04

Yeah, KThor, the link on shortandhappy.com isn't working. Fix please?

Mother_Puncher - 2010-12-04

It's sort of like an RPG. They only select their answers from a box and seem to all choose the same ones. "Claim innocence," "Deny chat log," "Use the God card" and "claim you were trying to help them in some way."

I wonder what the other options were. I guess "plead/bargain" would be a choice since dude tried to bribe Hansen with a pizza.

CJH - 2010-12-04

Where's the token Bad Karma/ Evil Route dialogue options?

"Hey Chris, I brought enough lube for three. What say you turn off those cameras, get that little bitch back in here, and we have the night of our lives?"

Caminante Nocturno - 2010-12-04

There are more dialog options in the expansion, To Catch A Predator: Yuri's Revenge.

Bort - 2010-12-04

If you have the "Brian" hack you can be this guy:

It was all a wacky scheme to meet your idol, Chris Hansen.

kwash - 2010-12-04

I am dying to see the episode of this show where one of these guys just owns up to it, flat out. Just "Well, if you have to know, I was going to fuck a 13 year old! God, drag it out of me, why don't you?"

fluffy - 2010-12-04

I wonder how many of these people are religious because they think that it's the only way they can atone for, sublimate, and possibly even justify their tendencies.

Raggamuffin - 2010-12-04

Personally, I think they have been caught by family or friends before and the religion card worked.

"I promise to pray this away if you don't tell anyone!"

Caminante Nocturno - 2010-12-04

Sitting in a chair on the beach, wearing shades and reading chatlogs.

Mother_Puncher - 2010-12-04

I was taken back by that too. I only know of the house setting the use. I guess they got to level up and got a bigger budget for location shots.

Hooker - 2010-12-04

I understand the appeal of this show, but I just cannot relate to it. This is incredibly uncomfortable to watch. I like it when whatever form of justice is being dispensed happens and I don't have to hear about it.

Baldr - 2010-12-04

Yeah, it's rough watching. I think part of it is that while the individuals caught here are obviously not good people, it's impossible to imagine a situation where teenage girls would want to fuck them.

I feel bad that they were convicted of crimes that they never would have had the capacity to commit in real life, regardless of their intent to actually commit those crimes.

Adramelech - 2010-12-04

The impossibly awkward situations presented are/were pretty much the entire appeal of the show.

To Baldr, a lot of people feel that way too, about the entire chat room entrapment thing in general. I think it's one of the main things that led to the show no longer being aired.

Love & Vomit - 2010-12-04

I think this is why the show is no longer being produced:

OhYouMeanNancy - 2010-12-04

I can appreciate how your empathy gene can be tweaked by these scenes, but face it, these guys really go out of their way to *do* something they know is wrong- not just chatting. I know how kids can talk the talk, but the likelihood of them actually being ready for sex (especially with someone that old) is pretty much nil; and sex before they're ready tends to mess people up mentally for a very long time. If it was your 13yo daughter they were trying to fuck, I expect you would want them to suffer more than an uncomfortable experience. It's well-placed schadenfreude.

//end o rant, back to giggling

Hooker - 2010-12-04

That's not it. I don't feel sorry for the people being cornered. I feel very uncomfortable with the idea that people are taking a vicarious enjoyment out of watching vigilante justice played out. That people sop this up is deeply disturbing to me.

boner - 2010-12-04

The only way this show could be more awkward is if Larry David ended up in house by mistake.

Oktay - 2010-12-04

That would be the best CYE ever. It makes me giggle just to think about it.

Jet Bin Fever - 2010-12-04

Thanks for that. It was a really depressing clip and I needed that.

TheSupafly - 2010-12-04

Was this a show? I thought it was a 'series of special investigations'.

fluffy - 2010-12-05

When you have the segment on pretty much every week, it no longer is special.

Xiphias - 2010-12-08

This show was as fucked up as the people it caught.

Tomas - 2010-12-08

It's not the best TV show of all time, I think Twin peaks, Riget and Rome are all up there. But it's top ten list easy. Fuck all you people saying it's hard watching or vigilante justice. It's neither, fuck-all of these cunts go to jail, and it's not difficult to watch, it's joyous. It's the most pure, distilled form of Schadenfreude in the world. The look on the faces of these poor, stupid bastards when he walks in with the transcripts is the same look on my face when I was 14 and Miss O'Driscoll walked in the room just as I'd thrown Ciara Walsh over a desk and snapped her collar-bone in maths.

'Oh shit, I've been caught by a grown-up'.

BorrowedSolution - 2013-11-25

They all go to jail, sure. Just like the 22 guys who got let off in Texas (Of all places!) because of the shoddy nature of the investigations, and the fact that one of the suspects ended up killing himself after holing up in his house.

Bear in mind that until these men are charged with anything, the presumption of innocent is *supposed* to apply; so "Who cares about some pedo wasting himself?!" would just be an ignorant way of replying.
