I hate Fox News and the rednecks screaming "War on Christmas Jesus under attack Obama got America anti-Christmas" but what's more fucking annoying is this idea of altering everything to protect everyone's sensibilities. If the German whatsit is celebrating Christmas, then it should be able to say so without ridicule.

"Good gravy! They aren't multicultural!" shit is old as fuck. I actually got a stern talking to from a homosexual uniterian universalist because I asked what the fuck Kwanza is. Apparently I should know but don't because I'm not black or try to learn all of these things so people will view me as multicultural.

What?

nice strawman. nobody is offended by christmas, they're offended by having public institutions favor one religion's holidays over others. What's so hard to understand about that?

Let's put the Saturn back in Saturnalia.

Seriously, hail to the all-devouring maw of the cthonics.

Grandmaster Funk - 2010-12-04

The word "Christmas" doesn't offend anyone except the insane. The problem is government sponsored and funded religious celebrations, which should offend us. (I assume since city hall has jurisdiction here that this event is government sponsored or funded.)

A secular government has no business throwing parties for Baby Jesus day. Of course the "winter holiday" thing is a ridiculous charade since it tends to assume the one thing that all Americans of all backgrounds can get behind is a a gift-giving Christmas-like winter holiday. At least it pretends not to be government-backed religion, though.

Either take the Christ out of government-sponsored "winter holiday time" or take the government out of religious holiday festivities. You can't really have it both ways as long as there's still a First Amendment.

I would like to see Fox News' reaction if American governments started funding Eid festivals.

Bonus "I know people who aren't Christian" card played at 2:30.

There were a couple I guess what you would call... ETHNIC STORES

Adramelech - 2010-12-04

"War on Christmas" stories are extra funny if you actually know where "Christmas" came from.

phalsebob - 2010-12-05

Merry Solstice, and to every ethnic a good night!

pineapplejuicer - 2010-12-05

i am from philly and if you are not from philly, we hate you. if you are from philly, there's a pretty good chance we hate you too. pissing off fox news can only be a good thing.

spikestoyiu - 2010-12-05

I am also from Philly. And an agnostic. And it was pretty stupid that they dropped the "Christmas" from this. All of that said, I never would have gone to this shit either way, though I hear they are selling some pretty righteous sausages. Christmas sausages.

Buggerman - 2010-12-05

War on Christmas, war on terrorist mosques, war on killer bees, under attack by a militant Kenyan, under siege by health care, freedom fries, etc.

It makes me angry to see people not being respectful to our lord and savior Chewbacca! He braved the Imperial blockade to make it home in time for Life Day!
