Police State.

Old_Zircon - 2010-12-07

At this point all it would take is one half-assed dirty bomb, even if it didn't properly detonate, and we'd be under martial law in 24 hours.

Not doing anything is the smartest move the terr'ists have made.

Riskbreaker - 2010-12-07

Fucking security, how does it work?

Koda Maja - 2010-12-07

Who screens the screeners?

mouser - 2010-12-07

WikiLeaks.

Congratulations, you've summed up Reddit's activity for the last month and a half.

Hey guys, my GF made me this object incorporating designs from a sci-fi and/or cartoon show and a meme!

FABIO - 2010-12-07

Why do I get the nagging feeling that the sudden outbreak of anti-TSA coverage is somehow connected to security privatization pushes...

exy - 2010-12-07

First we make a few bucks on some fancy xray machines our friend's company made and when everyone's pissed off we'll shrug and let some right-wing policy maker replace us with the Transportation Safety Corporation which is 9,000 times more opaque, more expensive, and run by essentially the same crew.

Time to wash the lather off my chops.

Old_Zircon - 2010-12-07

We're all fucked either way.

Old_Zircon - 2010-12-07

But yeah, right-wing media outlets definitely seem to be even more outspoken and shrill about this than left leaning ones, at least online.

Meatsack Jones - 2010-12-07

Wait for the "See Something, Say Something" campaign, coming to a Walmart near you.

Old_Zircon - 2010-12-07

I lived in Boston for most of the last decade; we've had that since like 2002.

TeenerTot - 2010-12-07

But who will come to my house to pat me down before I get in my car??? I demand more security before I drive!!

Old_Zircon - 2010-12-07

Oh, they've been deploying security vans that can scan other vehicles for months in the US, and years in Iraq. It's not even a big secret.

Dr. Philip Zombardo (and his goatee) is having a field day. This is pretty much the Stanford Prison Experiment all over again with better costumes. Unchecked abuses of power.

I flew out of DFW and SEA the past two days and the Rapescan machines were turned off and no patdowns. I'm not sure if the threat level is too low or they are letting things cool down or what.

Enjoy - 2010-12-07

Also a few weeks back I flew out of Gate D in Charlotte, the same gate where the flight attendant got her prosthetic boob worked over, and they were completely obnoxious. When I declined the Rapescan they started yelling "WE HAVE AN OPT-OUT" and all the uniformed TSA gathered around to see a supevisor give me a rubdown.

Wander - 2010-12-07

They were rapescanning everyone when I went, but the running it looked at me and passed me to the other side, where I thought I would be put through a metal detector, but some guy just waved me past, so I didn't go through any security at all. I guess I look innocent?

spikestoyiu - 2010-12-07

I have tons of facial hair, which guaranteed that I was getting the full pat down treatment long before the new policies went into effect. I have a great dick and balls, though, so I don't care.

samstein - 2010-12-07

So what will happen if I try to wear 215 pairs of underpants while I am rapescanned?

Old_Zircon - 2010-12-07

I don't know. I assume they'd arrest you if you wore a cup with a rat trap glued to it.
