The high water mark of Walt's "Uncle Walt" persona, which he had more or less trapped himself in by this point. Roundabout this time, he was offered the candidacy for governor of California by the Republican Party, and he refused it, saying "But I'm already king."

Even though this Patchwork Girl has given me and my soul a reason to stay up at night for the next year, I still think it would've been great to see a Disney (of this era) Oz film. Hmm...I can even picture it now, Patchy and Scarecrow OTP in a screwball comedy. Would've been cute.

Also, Annette Funicello as Ozma is quietly badass. lol
