"Men like me"
Transexuals (especially MtF) are cool in my book but I still have an issue with calling them the gender they want to be. I understand it's for "politeness" for the sake of being seen as an open minded and caring person who is understanding of peoples' sensibilities but this form of sexual materialism bothers me because a woman feeling like a man and changing her appearance doesn't make her a man. I think gender is technically decided on a genetic level. I do think Buck there means women with vaginas that look like men so she could be talking to FtM or most eastern European women.

But this isn't interesting at all

Syd Midnight - 2010-12-22

I agree with the part about you having issues

Billie_Joe_Buttfuck - 2010-12-22

oh no, this is in fact very interesting

now tell us about your mother

fulakarp - 2010-12-22

You know that sex and gender are not the same thing, right? Read a book, dumbass.

spikestoyiu - 2010-12-22

...but not one written before 1972.

kennydra - 2010-12-22

douche.

memedumpster - 2010-12-22

Thanks for proving that defending manhood doesn't make you a man either. Holy shit, there's another non-man at the bottom of the comments too, fuck, so much idiot, so few posting options...

Mother_Puncher - 2010-12-22

I'm not defending "manhood" or anything along those lines. I'm simply questioning the arbitrary terminology used to describe transgender individuals but I see I sparked similar reactions as if I came in here blasting transphobic comments or homophobic sentiments as if I assumed homosexuality and trans were the same thing. I was simply uninformed on this topic but I see you all were kind enough to show me I was wrong and point me to information on the topic.

I one-starred the video because I didn't find it interesting. Deal with it.

Shanghai Tippytap - 2010-12-22

You one-starred it because it threatened you on some dark level that you don't want to talk about. The only thing we one-star are dupes and tim and eric videos.

Mother_Puncher - 2010-12-22

On what level could it have threatened me? That I could hook up with a man and find out he has a vagina? No one informed me of the one starring policy so I could join the herd mentality on the matter. I'm not going to 5 star a video I found boring and overwhelmingly uninteresting just so I can go brag to my buddies at the Uniterian church about how progressive and open-minded I was online.

Shanghai Tippytap - 2010-12-22

God forbid you ever come across as open-minded.

Mother_Puncher - 2010-12-22

I never said I wasn't open-mind. I really don't think anything I posted suggests I'm close-minded. What is very ignorant is adopting one mindset about the subject and assuming anyone who thinks differently is "insecure" or "threatened" by this. I didn't post here bashing trans, homosexuals, men, women, children, crossdressers or anything of the sort. I posted an uneducated opinion that deviates from the collective hivemind and a few people got mad.

simon666 - 2010-12-22

I think what Mother Puncher is illustrating is a bigger discourse on the weather language is essential or not. That is, whether signs (signifiers, texts, etc) can actually mean or represent one actual thing.

I don't think Mother Puncher is hating on anyone here, though I do believe MP is arguing for an essentialist understanding of language. The debate about whether one is male or female or gendered in a particular way really illustrates these issues in language.

My position is that both "gender" and "sex" are polysemic, they do not mean just one thing and because of this there is room for people to use these terms as they see fit. IE: Calling oneself this or that. For every time one tries to define "man" or "male" or "woman" or "female" the question can be raised: Are those the ONLY characteristics of those types identities? And the answer is no, they are not the only characteristics.

What it comes down to is a question for the individual: Is the term someone chooses to identify oneself by in the world going to determine how you treat one? I would hope not.

La Loco - 2010-12-22

Amputees (especially multiple limbs) are cool in my book but I still have an issue with calling them people. I understand it's for "politeness" for the sake of being seen as an open minded and caring person who is understanding of peoples' limitations but this form of human materialism bothers me because a person missing a large percentage of their body can't be deemed a full person. I think being a full human is technically decided on a completeness level. Most people in Burma and Cambodia are not people in my opinion.

But I'm not interesting.

spikestoyiu - 2010-12-22

I feel like if you hadn't used the word "issue", maybe the hivemind here wouldn't be giving you such a difficult time. Or maybe not -- who the hell ever knows how the people on this website are going to react.

Can I safely assume I'm the only one here that's actually made out with a transsexual, though? And I have no problem with the idea that she was still genetically a dude.

Mother_Puncher - 2010-12-22

"Issue?" Really? That's the killswitch?

I made out with a guy in high school that later became a transsexual. Does that count?

Jericho - 2010-12-23

I made out with a mtf who was also pre-op. I am king.

spikestoyiu - 2010-12-23

I dunno, MP, I'm just guessing. I am probably -- and usually am -- totally wrong.

Also, sorry if I did not specify that this particular transsexual was a pre-op MTF. So don't celebrate just yet, Jericho.

Billie_Joe_Buttfuck - 2010-12-23

refusing to allow people in uncomfortable positions to feel comfortable through something so trivial as controlled use of language is pretty closed minded, bro.

and more than a little entitled!

Mother_Puncher - 2010-12-23

I'm not refusing anything, bro. I think simon666 is the only one that understood what I was saying. But nobody stopped to actually think about it since you seemed to have only read "I HATE TRANNIES THERE IS NO WAY I WILL TREAT THEM LIKE PEOPLE AND I WANT TO DENY THEM OF THEIR RIGHT TO LIVE I'M CLOSE MINDED." More importantly than you totally misunderstanding my post and not even bothering to try to understand it in anyway other than a negative one is how you seemed to be so black and white about the subject. Not the collective group but a few people seem to think that being "open minded" has a strict set of rules. Basically "if you think differently from us, you are close-minded."
I'll admit my post was horribly worded as most of my posts have and will be but beyond the miscommunication was a lot of "you are close-minded because you don't think the way we do" is pure ignorance especially when the misunderstanding was on such a small level. I don't blame anyone but the hypocrisy in here was pretty fucking overwhelming.

Billie_Joe_Buttfuck - 2010-12-23

what's to understand? you want to define transsexual people firmly off of what genitals they have. the truth is more complex than that, but to avoid the complexity, you would rather make transsexual people accommodate you.

but that's okay because once you made out with a dude, and he became a tranny later, and also something about hypocrisy.

cool story, bro

Mother_Puncher - 2010-12-23

You want to think the "complexity" of this topic bothers me because you want to feel like you are a part of this elite group of people who think they transcend any kind of social stigma or taboo and are above anybody who thinks differently and are ready to blast your rhetoric at anyone who crosses you even if they don't give a shit. You're mad as all fuck over some very minor detail but think it necessitates the pretentious bullshit you're regurgitating. Fact is, it doesn't bother me. I was simply uneducated on the matter but narrow minded, over-zealous champions-of-the-cause such as yourself only seem to see people's opinions on these matters as either acceptance or bigotry and no middle ground.

Billie_Joe_Buttfuck - 2010-12-23

cool story bro

dead_cat - 2011-10-12

Not to dogpile on you or anything, I'm just wondering is all -- how would you refer to intersex individuals? Those born with ambiguous genitals.

Pillager - 2010-12-22

I'm glad to see that the Horror category gets some time off around X-mas...

pineapplejuicer - 2010-12-22

those have got to be the biggest trapezius muscles ever attached to a vagina

Ghoul - 2010-12-22

Would you rather have sex with Buck Angel or Linetrap?

spikestoyiu - 2010-12-22

How is this even a question? Linetrap, please.

Ghoul - 2010-12-22

This was really more of a question for the resident homosexual population, but its nice to know I'm not alone.

spikestoyiu - 2010-12-22

Why let them have all the fun?

Burnov - 2010-12-22

If you have a vagina, you're not a man.

Sorry.

P.C fairytales don't come true.

memedumpster - 2010-12-22

Vaginaman is less insecure than you are. If you don't have a spine you're not a man either.

simon666 - 2010-12-22

What if a "man" has his penis and testicles removed, is this person still a "man." And if such things can be decided by the shape of one's body, does a human stop being human when all limbs are cut off, sex organs are removed removed or does such a person still get the privilege of being treated humanely?

This problem can be seen in old philosophical problem: If I take a grain of sand and place it on the floor, then another, then another, at which grain is there a pile of sand on the floor?

simon666 - 2010-12-22

Grammar. You'll fix that mentally for me I hope.

Gamara II - 2010-12-22

When I say so.

Where do I find my local LGBTQ center?

Meerkat - 2010-12-23

"Own it, use it, or lose it."

Huh? I'm trying to wrap my mind around this as good advice and it just isn't working. I own a TV. Does that mean if I don't watch TV I will lose my TV? I own a dong. Or at least I think I do. It's attached, but I don't have the bill or anything. Does that mean if I don't masturbate or hump other people that my dong will fall off? Or should I get it cut off because it isn't being used?

What if I had a vagina? If I didn't get stuffed regularly then would it heal over and I would end up looking like a Barbie doll down there? I know they atrophy after a while but I didn't think they would just go away.

And what of owning a dog? Is one expected to use it or have it run away from home and thereby become lost? And my car just sits in the garage all the time. Will I wake up one day to find my garage empty?

My head is spinning let me tell you and it isn't even because I was testing lime flavored vodka earlier (it isn't very good).

Which brings up another point -- I bought some vodka and now I'm using it, but if I keep doing that it will be gone. So that kind of means if you own it, and use it, you will lose it.

So the saying should be own it, use it, AND lose it. Or maybe it shouldn't. I JUST DON'T KNOW ANY MORE
