You'll be happy to know that the "Annie" comic strip was canceled a few months back, and it ended mid-storyline on this note:
- Everyone thinks Annie was eaten by a shark
- But in reality she's been captured by a Bosnian war criminal

I got dragged to the original Annie recently. Firstly, every showing you'll ever see is packed wall-to-wall with moms and their daughters singing along with every song.
Secondly, the songs are the only good things left about it. The movie may be cheesy and overdone, but it's at least exciting. In the play, the biggest "threat" is Rooster waving a switchblade at the audience during one of his songs/speeches.
Annie is one of those things that really belongs to another era. A dull, dull era.

kingarthur - 2011-01-06 See, we just had a guy who would put in Daredevil and laugh really hard at the parts where someone dies.

Buck up, little troopers - just think how lucky you are to be working....um...in a Broadway musical!
Subtle reference to the truth about acting careers.

Why those awful union clods wanna go home to their families on Christmas Eve instead of working another shift without pay. Monsters.
