I'll always remember where I was and what I was doing when I first saw this.

(Sitting on a couch drunk.)

I still need to see this episode. I don't know how it is I've gone this long without seeing the definitive episode of MST3k.

Why is the pizza still warm after 2 hours?

My 14-year-old-at-the-time brain theorized Torgo peed on it.

My brother said Torgo was sitting on it.

Mike Nelson cryptically said at the 1996 ConventioConExpoFestARama: "There's a lot of room in those pants."

Any other theories?

Torgo doesn't play by the rules, and that includes thermodynamics.

This movie was so bad I barely made it through even with MST3K holding my hand. I don't think I could tolerate it as the actual movie.

Manos: The Hands of Fate, is different from other, bad, Hollywood movies. Manos was made by a local business man, with no movie experience (obviously) in a small town using local people. They basically went out into the country and partied instead of filming and were half drunk a lot of the time. The guy who played Torgo was the one who motivated everyone to finish the film. Afterward it was shown in a local theater, so townsfolk could see each other on the big screen.

Keep circulating the tapes, Nikon!

I also heard that everything was really rushed because of insufficient funds, time constraints on renting the equipment and general lack of know-how and creating parts just so personal friends could make out in a car on camera. It kind of adds a new level of bad. Like there is "Titanic" and "Fantastic 4" bad which are just awful, the awesome bad like Casper Van Deam movies or "Basket Case" and then this which is BAD bad. The only other movie I've seen on Manos level was this movie called "Rage of the Werewolf" B_ko found in the trash at work which was also hand-signed by the director. Bad acting, general lack of film making experience, low funds, plot was all over the place. But RotW was at least pretty funny in how bad an inconsistent it was. It just got tedious as living Hell and the funny parts were far and few between.

Hands: The Hands of Fate

Statistically speaking, someone in Hollywood must be thinking of re-doing "Manos", only better and quirkier. (Which is to say it will suck balls.) Whom do you think they plan to cast as Torgo: Jack Black, Zack Galifianakis, or someone else?
