I'm going to five star my own submission (is that still a no no here?) because this is beautiful but it's evil that she died so close to discovery.

fedex - 2011-01-05

great stuff

baleen - 2011-01-05

can I has arty submission lol

RomancingTrain - 2011-01-05

Maybe people would have payed attention to her if she had taken cat pictures.

La Loco - 2011-01-06

Everyone likes cat pictures, so I guess you're right.

flotsam - 2011-08-23

She would have been more notable if she had taken those god awful high contrast "art" portraits on Deviant Art.

Anaxagoras - 2011-01-05

It may not be a bad thing that she died before she was discovered; many artists don't want fame or public attention, and it sounds like she might have been that type.

Chancho - 2011-01-06

I know a lot of female amateur artists who are amazing but have no interest in making money or getting famous. They view their art as a hobby and aren't motivated to profit from it.

About half of the married amateur artists have husbands who are employed as artists. I can only think of one whose husband is a better artists than she is.

steals soul!

rev.dinosaur - 2011-01-05

5 for her work, -1 for the guy trying to make this his claim to fame.

Wander - 2011-01-05

If he wasn't doing that, nobody would even know who she is.

Anaxagoras - 2011-01-06

Yup. Sometimes naked self-interest & greed are good things.

Samisyosam - 2011-01-06

THIS BELONGS IN A MUSEUM!

baleen - 2011-01-06

I have a pretty big aversion to art vultures myself having worked on a couple documentaries about Semi-Famous artists, but this guy seems like the categorical collector type and not the consume and control type.

La Loco - 2011-01-06

I think if he makes a mint selling her work to collectors and showing it there isn't anything wrong with it. I'm much more offended by the over licencing of popular artist's work; mugs, t-shirts, etc...

rev.dinosaur - 2011-01-06

Valid points, I just can't help but think were in his position I might consider donating it to an organization dedicated to film preservation or a museum rather than hitting up Kickstarter for funds.
