The hell you talking about? The 70's style wuxia fighting was really awesome and defeating a guy by making him drill himself into the ground is inspired.

Highlander was one of those pre-franchise movies that was good for what it was, and actually had an ending that wasn't designed to continue into a host of sequels. Retconning stuff like that is where many other films have gone wrong.

The second film did have two things going for it: One, it was a concrete example of what a "contractual agreement" was for actors, and two (continuing with Mr. Connery) it gave film nerds a trinity of "what was Sean Connery's worst movie role" to argue about (the other two being Zardoz and Sir Gawain and the Green Knight).

Zardoz was a hilarious take on counter culture of the 70s.

Listing Connery's worst movies without mention of The Avengers and League of Extraordinary Gentlemen is crazy.

You probably didn't know this existed because it was a Sci-Fi Channel Original Movie.

This crapfest was actually intended for direct-to-DVD release, got shelved by Lionsgate for like two years because it was so shitty, then finally aired on Sci-Fi/SyFy.

Another example of how utterly stupid this movie is: the main bad guy Duncan is fighting in this clip first appears wearing a big black face-and-neck guard thing that theoretically makes it impossible to cut off his head (OMG THE PERFECT HIGHLANDER VILLAIN), only to ditch it in the very next scene in which he appears.

The entire franchise is wisely being rebooted, with a couple of guys who worked on "Iron Man" writing the script and the guy who directed "Fast & Furious" directing.
