A competent studio did take less than a year and a half to make this. Gearbox bought DNF last year and I guarantee they scrapped whatever the fuck 3D Realms had spent the last 12 years shitting out.

The entire appeal of Duck Nukem 3D was that it did things that no other game had done up till 1996. It was obsolete the instant Blood came out a couple years later.

"A competent studio" is pretty much the reason why this game is going to be dull and forgettable. The studio that made Shadow Warrior and Duke Nukem 3D embraced being childish imbeciles. This game gives me the funny feeling that "childish imbeciles" was written on the mission statement and the producers of the game had board meetings about how to make the game more sophomoric.

A more appropriate song for the trailer would have been Chinese Democracy by Guns n' Roses.

If I learned anything from Borderlands it's that the game will probably be pretty good but the PC version will be a terrible console port and I'll wait a year or so to buy it until they've fixed most of the hilariously godawful launch bugs.
