This particular segment is about Fox and this commentator lying. Stewart does plenty of other segments calling other people out, left and right, for using trumped up rhetoric.

If I was one of the hundreds of millions of people who suffered through the most devastating war in history, whether it be by combat, genocide, or mass scale strategic bombing of civilian centers, when it was finally over and everyone on the planet thought "Never again",

I'm not sure which would piss me off more: pundits misusing the term Nazi to further an agenda, or shrill cynics saying we're not allowed to learn from history anymore because it's "played out".

I don't think rebutting Megyn Kelly's farcical statement that Fox News doesn't use overheated Godwin rhetoric would be better served by quoting politicians rather than, say, Megyn Kelly.

Stewart's central theme (which he's elaborated on many times) is to focus on the media. Every lampooned instance of political misbehaviour and corruption is usually framed in terms of "why aren't the media covering this", or "why do they let people spin bullshit excuses without accountability". Whether you agree with him or not, Stewart portrays politicians as opportunists who will get away with what they can and what works, the public as deeply misinformed, and the media at fault for both such circumstances.

Megyn Kelly denied that Fox hosts compared liberals to Nazi's.

Stewart then showed repeated examples of Fox hosts comparing liberals to Nazi's.

How do you not understand this?

Look I agree with Stewart, hypocrisy runs rampant, and yes, he correctly debunked Megyn's claim. I agree with a lot of his politics too. My criticism is that the segment would have been more effective if he focused on Republicans - someone from the opposite end of the political spectrum - in government using the same type of analogy. It would expose that "both parties do it, and no one approves" instead of just "look how fucking retarded the media is". If he had showed that both political parties cry nazi, and then done the Megyn evisceration, it would have been more on point.

Stewart didn't do that because he more or less believes that politicians will do whatever the citizens let them get away with, and the citizens let them get away with a lot because the media distorts the truth.

Not saying I agree with him on this, but that's why he doesn't bother to focus on the politicians when things like this happen.

A) Democrat says something somewhat accurate but politically outrageous.
B) Fox news is outraged... outraged!
C) Guest calls her and Fox out for being hypocritical
D) She aggressively denies it
E) John shows an incredible amount of very recent and specific evidence for their hypocrisy that in the end helps give credit to the initial claim
F) PLP gets upset because he just wanted to see a fair expression of everybody saying outrageous things so he could wave his finger at all of them instead of condemning the act as well as the denial of the act.
