It's so fun to see the GOP's cognitive dissonance between party loyalty and realizing that if they REALLY are about small government, people like Cheney are anathema to just about everything the Tea Party claims it stands for.

simon666 - 2011-02-12 For the Tea Party, 'big government' is predicated by 'amount of tax money spent.' When there are complaints about bureaucracies, it's because they are inefficient with money, money not well spent, money spent efficiently. 'Big government' rarely means too big to be brought under the rule of law. And then again, we are only talking about the Federal government. State governments should have the right to intervene in people's lives as they see fit, unless that goes against the protections in the federal constitution. In that case the states should be under the guise of a big government, unless, of course, this is about abortion. Then the states should have the right to go over the constitution as interpreted by the Supreme Court.

WHO WANTS DESSERT - 2011-02-12 "For the Tea Party, 'big government' is predicated by 'amount of tax money spent on things other than killing brown people and oppressing minorities."
Fixed that for you. Three trillion dollar wars based on lies and a pointless war on drugs are A-OK, it's just giving the poors jobs and money to buy food for their kids that counts as big gubmint.

That wasn't him getting heckled that was just a single hippy who went to the conference just to give Cheney a piece of his mind. The entire crowd was opposed to that idiot.

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2011-02-12 I sort of agree with Matk. I doubt if the guy is a hippie, since no one has seen a REAL hippie since 1971, but "Guy at CPAC does not like Cheney" hardly seems like a real news story.
|
Bort - 2011-02-13 Surprise guest. The "hippy" didn't know Cheney would be there.

Point: Our former VP is a war criminal.
Counterpoint: "USA! USA! USA!"

spikestoyiu - 2011-02-12 Their uh, retort has such an 80's WWF vibe to it.

-1 star for not calling Cheney a "Heartless war criminal".

"War criminal"
"In your opinion"
I swear, that is the response I get from my Republican co-worker every single time I point out the stupid bullshit they're doing.

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2011-02-12 Everybody thought that Iraq had WMD because they were all seeing the same intelligence that was being cherry-picked by Cheney's office. It's like saying that if I lie to you, and you believe it, why then, you're ALSO a liar!

Just got a tweet from Frank Coniff (formerly known as TV's Frank):
Ron Paul won CPAC straw poll. I won a free soft drink at Arby's. Both will have equal impact on 2012 presidential race.

On a positive note, from his apparent wasting it seems God is tearing him apart from the inside.
