Each has its own virtues. Each has a cameraman/owner chuckle, each has a kitty going *thonk*. In this one, it is true, the cat does not wake itself up with the impact on a hard surface (funny ha-ha), but in this one the cat does fall peacefully asleep on a soft surface (funny ho-ho).

Ones' appreciation of each can depend greatly on the perspective of the viewer. From a Buddhist perspective, they both suffer from desire, in this case to stay awake. Only one finally is able to achieve nirvana (this cat), while the Siamese has so immersed itself in luxuries that even when it succumbs to sleep its' own choice of sleeping area (hard surface) allows it to remain awake, thus perpetuating its own unhappiness. You choose to laugh at the Siamese's unhappy state, whereas I choose to recognize and enjoy the state of bliss that sleepy cat here has achieved.
