I EAT BECAUSE I'M ASHAMED; I'M ASHAMED BECAUSE I'M FAT

Stopheles - 2011-03-17

The Irish Setter I had growing up used to do that same sort of grin when she'd gotten into the trash. It was not that uncommon for her to greet us at the door, trying her hardest to smile and steer us away from the kitchen.

Buggerman - 2011-03-17

I used to have a wolf / black lab cross who would do just this. Most of the time I wouldn't even know he did something but his instant guilty behavior would have me hunting around the yard for evidence.

Dogs are amazing. Just the fact that you are upset with them is enough to make them torture themselves on the inside. "I am very disappointed in you." *looks at ground, lets out dramatic whine-sigh.*

No surprise that he had to disable commenting too.

Squeamish - 2011-03-17

"And you let it happen. I hope you're happy, too."

Koda Maja - 2011-03-18

This is what got my stars.

Also, perfect choice in music.

Oscar Wildcat - 2011-03-17

The dog is ashamed of his now not so secret longing to be a cat.

Corpus Delectable - 2011-03-18

^^^ For this!

I make that same face when I see myself in the mirror after I eat an entire bag of chips in one sitting.

snothouse - 2011-03-17

Am not a dog person, was not expecting to love this.

Scrotum H. Vainglorious - 2011-03-17

The black lab did it!

CJH - 2011-03-17

At one point it sounds like Woody Harrelson berating his dogs.

Kumquatxop - 2011-03-19

sounds like a pretty damn great premise for a movie

Zhou Fang - 2011-03-23

I was going to say Sam Rockwell, but yeah. Makes me miss my boxer.

Bebido - 2011-03-18

LET HE WITHOUT SIN CAST THE FIRST STONE!

Yeah, I love dogs so much but I'm terrible at disciplining them. Except when I beat them.

Anaxagoras - 2011-03-18

I'm very disappointed in you Denver. You go straight to your room and think long and hard about the pain and suffering you've brought to me and your mother.

poorwill - 2011-03-18

Denver, how could you I TRUSTED YOU.

You just know the cat set Denver up.

Comeuppance - 2011-03-18

I love this so much.

Caminante Nocturno - 2011-03-18

Denver, you've lost a level of trust between us that can never be regained.

TeenerTot - 2011-03-18

My dog is a habitual thief/garbage dumper and plays innocent fairly well. Even when it's obvious.
Story time!
I used to keep the trash in a bin in the cabinet under the sink. One day while I was out at work, my dad stopped in. When he came in the house he heard the cabinet door slam shut, and found my dog sitting angelically in the middle of a trash heap.

Samisyosam - 2011-03-18

All the remorse in the world ain't gonna save you from the gallows, Denver!

kingofthenothing - 2011-03-18

I don't know. That's an awful clean cut on the bag. If a dog tore the bag open, the opening would be a lot more ragged. It would look more chewed on, and not like someone had cut it with scissors.

I have a dog that is also guilty of mischief. Often sleeping on the couch, all grinning at me.
