One of my favorite games when I was about 9 years old.

Alley Cat was and is awesome, but it wasn't shareware.

You pirating filth.

freedoom - 2011-04-25

I loved this game but never understood how to play it. Also, not shareware just massively pirated.

BYTE!

The memories. The colors. The sounds.

If I had the money I'd buy the rights to this and remake it.

This was actually a sort of technological marvel. This entire game is only 4kb.

Economy is everything in Alley Cat. Sure, you could just display the score ... or you could display it as a phone number scrawled on the alley fence. Guy took a simple concept and squeezed every last drop out of it.

Cyberblah - 2011-04-26

Wow.

It also looks like it uses every possible CGA pallet.

Jet Bin Fever - 2011-04-26

This is such a clever and fun game. It's really impressive for 1984 too.

Innocent Bystander - 2011-04-26

Shoot! This didn't have the swimming level.

freedoom - 2011-04-26

Yes it did. you got to dive into a giant fish tank.

Bort - 2011-04-26

I think he means they didn't show the Electric Fish Turd stage in this video.
