Awful doesn't even begin to describe this.

Nikon - 2011-05-27

I think we need to make an entirely new language in order to describe the awfulness of this.

baleen - 2011-05-27

Why would he spend all this time animating and then use a desktop mic to do all the audio? Also, a tour de force of blah.

IrishWhiskey - 2011-05-27

Five stars, because this documentary should be receiving several major awards for its authoritative and introspective look into the mental state of a narcissistic loser douchebag nerd appealing to like-minded individuals.

cognitivedissonance - 2011-05-27

Did you ever see the documentary about the guy who directed "Boondock Saints"? You just described it.

He's so bad that the documentary was filmed and produced by his own brother.

BHWW - 2011-05-27

There've been plenty of awful gaming webcomics around, especially after the Great Penny Arcade Ripping Off of the early 00's, and what amazes me is, leaving aside Buckley's constant, ruthless self-promotion that chance, fortune, whatever decided this was the series that deserved success of a sort, out of an ocean of similar product.

The wacky zany guy who says wacky zany things, the sarcastic sidekick, The Girl who stands around rolling her eyes and sighing at Those Silly Men, the wacky mascot who often threatens bodily harm. Nothing really to distinguish CTRL+ALT+DEL from any of the other similar trash. Even the sudden swerve into overly dramatic storylines.

Caminante Nocturno - 2011-05-27

You really can't factor out how horrible a person Buckley is. Understanding where Buckley's personality comes out in the comic helps explain why this comic is held in such contempt. Buckley really is exceptionally bad at this. He uses bad art and terrible humor on principle, not just because he's lazy.

Baldr - 2011-05-27

I'd like to know more about this. The only thing I've seen is the miscarriage comic.

Sundry - 2011-05-27

There is the part about him imitating the penny arcade crew in the worst ways possible.

They start a conventions? Me too! Only I didn't bother with anything more complicating than charging entrance fee to a lan party.

They start a charity? I will do that too! I better tell my fans to donate only to mine. Oh, I only raised three thousand dollars. I better spend it all on a new drawing tablet for myself, that will really improve my comic.

One of them found their significant other in the fandom? I better try that too. I'll start by sending naked pictures of myself to 14 year old girls in my forum.

Squeamish - 2011-05-27

So what you're saying is, if you see Tim Buckley in real life, I shouldn't hold back the urge to punch him in the solar plexus.

Mother_Puncher - 2011-05-27

Basically, Balrd, Tim Buckley is a giant reeking pile of shit. His comics are pure, unrefined anti-comedy that is powerful enough to run bring back Dharma and Greg for 22 seasons if it ever comes into contact with it. If you really want to find out more about the comic, just go to the website. I'm sure you will find more than enough to convince you the man isn't funny. Tim Buckley as a person is a piece of shit. He regulates his forum on his website like it's his primary function. The chracter you saw peep from behind the metal door (Scott? I don't fucking know) went up there and was just never talked about again up until recently but if anyone of the forum asked about him or why he isn't being used, they got banned. There have been whole threads, whether it's discussing the comic or Buckley in general, that have been deleted and everyone in the thread banned even if they were defending him. He literally doesn't want people talking bad about him or the comic. He has stolen from charities he has and justifies by saying it was his charity and then buys stupid shit. Ethan, the main character, is obviously his self insertion character and is used to get feelings or is pointless ramblings across to the public, hence the miscarriage episode that is so worthy of being mocked. Buckley also used charity money to pay for sex but no hooker would ever have sex with him no matter what the cost so he ends up fucking sheep and crying when they can't have his babies either [citation needed]

I'm sure somebody else has more in depth details on this but this is what I know.

Nikon - 2011-05-27

@Squeamish If you ever see the guy in real life, punch him so hard you break the sound barrier.

Squeamish - 2011-05-27

Okay.

Baldr - 2011-05-27

Thanks. That stuff about the charity is fantastic.

Caminante Nocturno - 2011-05-27

The punchline is video games.

Unmerciful Crushing Force - 2011-05-27

I love how each character has such a unique and distinct personality and the relationships are so well defined.

misterbuns - 2011-05-27

The 'web comics shouldn't be animated week' tag is too words too long.

Mother_Puncher - 2011-05-27

Why couldn't this be a miscarriage too?

Macho Nacho - 2011-05-27

It is a miscarriage. One long tortuous one.

1394 - 2011-05-27

Guys guys guys

Video games.

Toenails - 2011-05-27

LOL!

XBOX AND PLAYSTATION!!

oddeye - 2011-05-27

I know right? That guy was all like "Will this XBOX game work on my PLAYSTATION 2???"

ROFLCAKES!!!!

Tom Collins - 2011-05-27

I once watched Clerks!

themilkshark - 2011-05-27

White people demand extremely personalized entertainment.

misterbuns - 2011-05-27

Unlike the BET, right?

spikestoyiu - 2011-05-27

New webcomic idea:

WHITE GUY #1: Super Mario Brothers!
WHITE GUY #2: The cake is a lie!
WHITE GUY #1: Zelda!
SOMEBODY'S GIRLFRIEND: Oh, you guys!

Mother_Puncher - 2011-05-27

The joke here is that Guy #1 and #2 mention video games and references but SOMEBODY'S GIRLFRIEND just thinks Guy #1 and Guy #2 are just crazy and passes it off as them being themselves.

BHWW - 2011-05-27

Great so far, but we have to make sure the girlfriend is a sassy chick who tells it like it is and there has to be a mascot, a creature or robot that wants to take over the world or constantly threatens people with harm, oh it's so wacky, then you make an awkward, hamfistedly executed swerve into sudden drama, and someone gets killed and big important stuff happens and White Guy 1 is revealed to be the Chosen One to fulfill a prophecy to save the world and we discover Somebody's Girlfriend was abused by her parents.

spikestoyiu - 2011-05-27

We'll need to flesh the characters out a bit more; maybe one of them can be a slacker and another one of them can be overweight.

Mother_Puncher - 2011-05-27

And SOMEBODY'S GIRLFRIEND can be one of the creator's girlfriends or maybe just someone they know with exagerrated features. Like maybe she could be ugly as shit but in the comic, she could be the quirky gamer girl who is so kawaii and quirky. And quirky. And quirky. She should be quirky.

oddeye - 2011-05-27

A 5 min video of a dog taking a shit would be more entertaining than this.

delicatessen - 2011-05-27

this video IS of a dog taking a shit

charmlessman - 2011-05-27

Self referential nerd comedy is NEVER FUCKING FUNNY EVER!!!

Ctrl-Alt-Del
Least I Could Do
Penny Arcade
Big Bang Theory
All nerdcore rap

I am an unapologetic nerd, but this shit is fucking deadshoes.

Ghoul - 2011-05-27

Agreed.

Harveyjames - 2011-05-27

b (that's a thumbs-up)

Cherry Pop Culture - 2011-11-06

d^_^b

^Two thumbs up

Bozo - 2011-05-27

Painfull to watch, self insertion character, Things talking that shouldn't be talking, weak plot, why it's Seth Macfarlane Jr!

Anaxagoras - 2011-05-27

This stuff is anti-humour. Don't let it get within 25 meters of an actual comedy source... the consequences could be disastrous to life as we know it.

Vaidency - 2011-05-27

I really appreciate that they thought the first thing we should know about the main character, introduced in the first 20 seconds of the first episode, is that he's a complete dick. It really sets the tone.

Bozo - 2011-05-27

An elitist gamer dick no less. Which makes him relatable to the fanbase of CAD.

IrishWhiskey - 2011-05-27

It blows my mind that someone could consider that behavior "endearingly sarcastic" rather than total asshole.

It's easy to write an "insult the dumb and rude customer" joke. Yet Buckley writes the customer as polite and asking a sensible question for a non-gamer, while the protagonist is just nasty and dismissive. It's like he's going out of the way to shoot his comedy in the foot.

Harveyjames - 2011-05-27

Yeah, I honestly thought the punchline to that was going to involve the jagoff clerk being humiliated in some way, until I realised that this is written by and for terrible people.

phydeaux - 2011-05-30

Blind Ferret "Entertainment"

Rodents of Unusual Size - 2011-05-31

This is so awful it is creating an antihumor hole in the universe.

Kabbage - 2012-05-08

Beyond unforgivable.

Riskbreaker - 2013-01-12

At this point i refuse to believe this man has actual real fans.
