My headphones at the time weren't completely isolated, so I get some very strange looks from people in airports watching a grown man in a suit intensely focused on tapping a gameboy as fast as possible while tapping his foot to Madonna and The Village People.
I guess what I'm saying is the game was seriously hard and damn fun.
Not gonna lie, I cried when I beat this, both from the game's expert emotional manipulation and my sheer relief at finally finishing this goddamned stage.
The worst emotional manipulation in the game was "You're My Inspiration," when you had to help that little girl get over the grief of losing her father.
I mean seriously, goddamn you, EBA.
Five stars because I was super-jazzed when I finally pulled off this finale. The patterns are still stuck in my head.
I have never once lost the "You're My Inspiration" level on any difficulty. Other songs may have kicked my ass, but I have never once allowed myself to fail at that stage.
I didn't cry at the end of this game, but I did come pretty close.
It's not just fun, it's one of the few redeeming games for the system that ever managed to come up with something useful for the touch screen.
So of course it didn't sell nearly as well as it should have, and ended after just one US game and two in Japan. I'm waiting on them to realize that the iPhone has multi touch and would be a better platform.
