I know the schizophrenia tag isn't a medical diagnosis, but whether it's creationism, or the gold standard, or government conspiracies, or new-age fortune treatments, it's just way too common for people to latch onto an easily rebuttable theory, then absorb only that information which supports it due to confirmation bias, and lack of effort into actual research.
Sometimes I think the only difference between this guy, and over 50% of the people I meet, is that they either keep quiet about their crazy beliefs, or there's enough people who agree with them that they don't have to.
