There was a Dirty Jobs where they cleaned out a sewage pumping station, I believe in Colorado. Sewage entered deep in a pit, and was shredded and conveyed up to be sent further on its way. The shredder was referred to as the "Muffin Monster," ostensibly for the "muffins" of solids that would build up on top of the unit.

It would probably clog a regular shredder. But seriously, though, he'd probably been drinking.

And breathe nice and deep when you're shredding that insulation.

There would be a lot of power involved in that, and they would have to be much bigger. I kind of like the idea of plasma generators at landfills, there's one in Japan that is consuming so much garbage that they're worried about where to get more garbage.
