"does anyone actually think these guys are funny?"

Yes, when they get as close to real stuff as possible. This and the Tiger Woods report are great because of that.

The Dailyshows "Royal Wedding" was hollow crassness.

bac - 2011-06-19

No...the daily show's segment was a complete and utter fuck you to anybody that says footage from a public event can't used for satire. And it couldn't have been more perfect. I guess you're kinda correct if you switch "crass and hollow" with vulgar and supposed to be.

Sundry - 2011-06-19

Didn't care for the "fuck you" gesture so I just wasn't amused. I prefer vulgarity as a punchline rather than the random-vulgar-crap of the Dailyshow short.

Had I cared for the gesture, then the short WOULD have been a big punchline. But without caring it was just a bunch of random stuff.

So, giant public events of a ruling class should be protected from free speech? I mean if you didn't like the joke that's cool, to each his own, but I'm amazed that you just saw it as a joke and nothing more.

Sundry - 2011-06-19

I really do not care about the brit royalty. They are merely celebrities from birth who get paid directly from taxes. They are not really the "ruling class" anymore.

If they want to put conditions on how the footage of their public events is used then they are no diferent from celebrities with good lawyers.

As it is the whole event was used to market crap to tourists and the kind of people that care aboutt he royal family, so it is no surprise that the government wanted to keep it fancy and proper.

Caminante Nocturno - 2011-06-19

Do you mean NMA News or LulzSec?

RocketBlender - 2011-06-19

I meant LulzSec, I probably should have clarified that.

Raggamuffin - 2011-06-19

I just assumed you meant LulzSec, since NMA is just so darn lovable and LulzSec is objectively not funny.

B. Weed - 2011-06-19

So change it to "does anyone think LulzSec is funny?". And maybe add an NMA tag too.

RocketBlender - 2011-06-19

Done and done.

craptacular - 2011-06-19

no muties allowed ?

Burnov - 2011-06-19

I honestly don't think a group of 4chan morons are doing this, it seems oddly prescient that after years of the internet being relatively calm, all of a sudden when the government wants to strip down and heavily regulate the internet, up out of nowhere this "fearsome internet threat" appears.

Reichstag fire anyone?

memedumpster - 2011-06-20

Please tell us more of this.

dead_cat - 2011-06-19

Always a 5 for these guys.

Nikon - 2011-06-20

I love NMA.
