Fucking yes.

NineEleven - 2011-06-24

I want to make my guy look like Duke Nukem and slap titties

Mancakes - 2011-06-24

Oh yes.

Nyms Lives! - 2011-06-24

This strikes me as a tad "over-the-top".

Or in other words, Fucking yes!

The McK - 2011-06-24

The dance at 1:53 as the narrator talks about being the leader of an elite criminal organization. Also, everything else.

Shanghai Tippytap - 2011-06-24

this looks so fucking fun

enough with this "spend four hours running over pedestrians in a hummer followed by a fifteen second tearful cutscene about how after the war you dont think you could ever kill again" bullshit

i think sandbox games have finally gone meta.

Knuckles - 2011-06-24

They shamelessly copied every single gameplay mechanic from GTA but this somehow looks so much more fun.

StanleyPain - 2011-06-25

Saint's Row has always been about ripping off GTA, but making it less about pseudo-serious, morose storylines about "the death of the American dream" and more about blowing things up and killing people.

charmlessman - 2011-06-25

It looks like they took all the awesome stuff about GTA (blowing shit up, driving over people, stealing vehicles) and took away all the penalties for doing so. I'm in.

Aelric - 2011-06-25

To be fair, GTAs self-serious plots are a new thing, with only 4 and it's DLC being that way. San Andreas was much more like Saint's Row, which was the real inspiration.

Hank Friendly - 2011-06-25

+1 San andreas was like the precursor to SR. GTA4 was a huge step back in terms of interactivity, fun, and not being stupid.

StanleyPain - 2011-06-25

The thing that's bothering me about SR3 stuff so far is that it looks like maybe they haven't given the player much to actually have goals about. I mean, a sandbox of insanity is great, but if you can access so many things right up front without having to earn much of it, I dunno how that will play out. In SR2 there was at least some pacing...first you got to restyle your cars, then you got custom gang members, then you had to earn more teammates, then you had to win better bonus weapons, etc... it still built up, so I hope they keep some of that.

sosage - 2011-06-25

San Andreas had a self serious plot. Maybe your copy was broken.

Aelric - 2011-06-28

Maybe it's when the gang banger steals a jet pack from area 51. I see now that represented his inner soul lifting from the bonds of economic depression.

Scrotum H. Vainglorious - 2011-06-24

Let's hope they don't totally fuck up the PC port.

WHO WANTS DESSERT - 2011-06-24

It's being done in-house this time, the latest Red Faction ran flawlessly on modern computers so there's no reason to this Saint's Row 3 won't be the same.

kingarthur - 2011-06-24

Glorious.

twinkieafternoon - 2011-06-25

Doing swinging-neckbreakers and RVD mule-kicks to civilians has always been a dream of mine! How did they know?

Caminante Nocturno - 2011-06-25

I really don't know what to say.

Squeamish - 2011-06-25

You don't have to say anything.

Adramelech - 2011-06-25

I really like this new trend of developers making video games that are fun.

FeeFiFoFoTheFifeFifeBrown - 2011-06-25

Pedestrians as ammo.

Pedestrians. As. Ammo.

Sphinx - 2011-06-25

They didn't have to give us more reasons to buy this. Awfully polite of them though.

I'm still using this guy as my SR3 character template.
