I only played this in the arcade. This looks like a totally different game.
The game you played in the arcade was just "Bomb Jack". I'm not sure what convinced the people behind this game to turn it into a nihilistic metroidvania nightmare, but there you go.
Arino is the man, everyone on yt doing "Let's play" could learn some things from him.
