WHO WANTS DESSERT - 2011-08-16

The very first one is fake (Being John Malkovich didn't have a commentary track but the commentary track is cited as the source for the can toss being unscripted), didn't bother with the rest.

That'll learn 'em!

Meatsack Jones - 2011-08-16

The can toss was scripted, the line was not. The story goes he improv'd it for a shot at a SAG card.

EvilHomer - 2011-08-16

The "annoying sound" sequence was improvised. Well, I'll be!

Xenocide - 2011-08-16

Fun fact: All the special effects, dialog, music, set design, and muppets in Star Wars were improvised. It was actually supposed to be an adaption of The Pickwick Papers, but everyone got really wasted during filming and the next morning George Lucas awoke to discover that he'd accidentally filmed an million Kurosawa ripoff.

Caminante Nocturno - 2011-08-17

5 stars for " million Kurosawa ripoff."

Innocent Bystander - 2011-08-17

And then he tried to do it again intentionally and the prequels were the result.

Mother_Puncher - 2011-08-16

Some of the improvisations seem to be on there because the creator of this liked those movies or re simply filler and were very small, unimportant additions to the script. I thought Indiana Jones shooting crazy sword guy was improvised and all of Rick Moranis's food for his house party walkthrough was improvised. Both were better and more elaborate that the most annoying noise.

EvilHomer - 2011-08-16

Screw you. The most annoying sound in the world is the single greatest sequence in cinematic history. FACT!

oswaldtheluckyrabbit - 2011-08-16

yeah not including the Indiana Jones one is completely bizarre

oddeye - 2011-08-16

The most annoying sound in the world sounds an awful lot like my old modem whenever I tried to enter an AOL chatroom.

Wander - 2011-08-16

That scene wasn't actually improv, the scene was originally different, but it was changed shortly before they started shooting it, and not on the spot as most stories would have you believe.

Also they changed it because ford had dysentery.

FABIO - 2011-08-16

The houseparty food sequence was also in the original script.

"Dr Strangelove" might have been better represented by the somersault George C. Scott does after the line "It's an obvious commie trick Mr President!". It wasn't a pratfall, Scott really tripped, but he was so in-character (and it was such a long take) that he followed through just like Gen. Turgidson would have.

The best unintended moment from "Raiders of the Lost Ark" is when Belloq eats a fly during the bazooka scene. The desert flies were so numerous, the actors were miserable and wanted to wrap up the scene and they just stopped caring. So he eats it raw. Once you see it, you'll never be able to un-see it.

Not really "unscripted scenes", but then neither are most of the ones in this video.

StanleyPain - 2011-08-16

I don't think the person who made this video knows what they're talking about.
Rutger Hauer's speech in Blade Runner was entirely unscripted, written by Hauer himself shortly before filming that scene.

deadpan - 2011-08-17

no understand how movie work! maybe some time they make up? who konws? five stars.

Wonko the Sane - 2011-08-17

that script he wrote was 100% unscripted

citrusmirakel - 2011-08-16

INTERESTING!

Wait, no. The other thing.

misterbuns - 2011-08-16

My favorite part was unscripted pyrotechnic gag that was modivated Ledger's unscripted business with the detonator followed by a wonderfully improvised camera crane move and exit.

Amazing!

hammsangwich - 2011-08-16

Kind of obscure, but the scene where Chow Yun-Fat is running out of the hospital while it is exploding in Hard Boiled is badass. The pyro crew set the explosion off way too early so he was literally running through flames and debris, where in actuality he should have been much farther away.

This is pretty neat.
