Check out McKenna's seven-hour lecture on his Timewave theory for a fascinating surrealist parody of scientific method. He claims it was dictated to him by a talking mushroom but he based it on grumpy dissatisfaction with what he saw as "science's one free miracle" of the Big Bang Theory.
He was very good at taking the piss outrageously and funny and charming enough to have people listen to him.
Alan Moore took the torch from Terence McKenna and Anton Wilson. Everything he says and writes is recycled material from their books and lectures, but he does it so well and with so much respect that you don't really mind.
Because it is complete bullshit with a patina of scientific mumbo jumbo and I hate it when assholes appropriate scientific language for their infantile "spiritual" ideas. Scientists actually speak, when they are on their game. This guy is merely putting words next to one another.
