A face only a hipster could love.
Your bee animation sucks.

Ghoul - 2011-09-27
"cute brunette" is entirely subjective.
fedex - 2011-09-27 yes, I understood that it was likely NOT made up Mr. Ego, but was in fact a direct quote from whatever lame-ass song this girl decided to perform. Call me crazy, but somehow I sussed that out.

Good Day Mr. Kubrick!

TeenerTot - 2011-09-27
Aw....so punchable.

Squeamish - 2011-09-27 I was thinking headbuttable, myself, but either way, the emotion is the same.

Wow. First Blossom is on The Big Bang Theory, and now this. How much farther can she fall?
spikestoyiu - 2011-09-27
This is the most embarrassing thing I've ever seen.
Bort - 2011-09-27
She's got a terrific voice, I have to give her that.
Change - 2011-09-27
This is clearly parody.
balistic - 2011-09-27 I've seen hundreds of demo reels. I have no doubt that this is real. It's probably not in my bottom five, but definitely in the bottom ten.
erratic - 2011-09-27 this is completely real.
Cena_mark - 2011-09-27 This isn't the movies. You just don't put out a quirky video and expect to be hired just cause you're so spunky. Her demo real was rubbish. If she wants to stand out she needs to work her ass off and make a demo real composed of stuff beyond her class projects.
Spoonybard - 2011-09-27 God damn it, that's twice. It's spelled "reel," cena.
Spoonybard - 2011-09-27 Actually that was three times, god damn
Cena_mark - 2011-09-27 Well how many times does one use real as opposed to reel? A hell of a lot more. I'm not applying for a job as a speller am I?
sosage - 2011-09-27 She stands a better chance of having her work seen, even if it isn't up to par, than Joe "Space Marine Modeler" Blow #3491 who is just gonna do turn tables to Daft Punk. The reality of this work is that a gimmick definitely does not hurt your chances of getting noticed, even if you're the best undiscovered animator on the planet.
Cena_mark - 2011-09-27 Are you not a cute brunette?
balistic - 2011-09-27 sosage: not only does this generate the wrong kind of attention, it also hurts her chances at any studio that isn't Pixar.
craptacular - 2011-09-28 Woman graduates with degree in animation, immediately seeks job at most prestigious, successful animation studio in the world, without showcasing skills but instead smiling at the camera and playing the ukelele.
simon666 - 2011-09-28 "Pixar... world class animators and she approaches them with a demo real like that?"
You're forgetting Pixar is owned by Disney now, this is entirely appropriate.
chumbucket - 2011-09-27
she's way too dark and edgy for Pixar
Fatback Jack - 2011-09-27
Not sure if I like this new Michael Gondry short.
erratic - 2011-09-27
Should someone tell her that all the jobs at pixar are done by different people?
KnowFuture - 2011-09-27
GOD DAMMIT where the hell did all the The Gooch ripoffs pop up from over the last 2-3 years and how long until they go away?
balistic - 2011-09-27
You pretty much have to be a pixar fanboy to work at pixar, but this is actually *too much* fanboy.
And not nearly enough skill. Sadly, for-profit art schools keep cranking these kids out.
fatatty - 2011-09-27 She said she had a Fine Art degree so it would have to be the fancy Art Institute. The for profit Art Institutes give out Bachelors of Science for animation.
And while the Ai schools are overpriced I wouldn't call them throwaway schools. Even though that's essentially what they do to their students when they graduate. Still you can get a decent education and a job out of the deal if you work hard.
Now Full Sail...they are nothing but shit.
fedex - 2011-09-27 SAIC = School of the Art Institute of Chicago
American Standard - 2011-09-28 The SAIC is a scam. They also produced that girl who made her internet mark cramming a jar of Spaghetti-O's in her cooch. Its graduates are either incompetents totally unequipped for the world or dilettantish rich kids.
fatatty - 2011-09-28 I think these schools just have a lot of shitty kids running through their tubes. I know someone who went to SAIC who now works at Titmouse on Metalocalypse. I also know people who went to Art Institutes who work in the game industry, and people who work at Kinkos.
I think the problem we have is a lot of people (entitled boomer children) with no artistic talent going to art schools and expecting to be given talent. Instead they coast through with mediocre work, never learn to work hard, and then blame the school for not doing all the work for them.
Of course the fact that these art schools are charging ,000 a year while allowing mediocre students to pass unchallenged is cruel and inhumane.

Tina Fey Smirk
spikestoyiu - 2011-09-27 Tina Fey's got stroke-smirk because she was stabbed. What's this idiot's excuse?

Random_Hajile - 2011-09-27
I have no idea what you guys are talking about. The animation on that ukulele playing creature is pretty convincing.
Bort - 2011-09-28
Can I say one thing? The bow. The bow in her hair is the cherry on top. I can understand addressing Pixar directly even if it's unprofessional. I can understand wanting to sell her personality, her charm, her looks, her spirit, her sense of humor, etc. even if not all of it translated particularly well to this video. But unless her dream job is "Second Assistant Gilly", the bow is the thing that stands out as flaky for no reason at all.
Oh, and you know what I (actually my whole family) call a fish with no eye? Tiresias. Danielle Albert would not be welcome at our table.

I made it as far as the second chord on the ukulele.
