The only bad thing about this is that this episode doesn't air until next week.

So someone at NBC finally saw all those GI Joe PSAs, huh? Porkchop Sandwiches! Hehehehe

gravelstudios - 2014-03-27

They should have fed it through an old VCR first.

The related videos were all community clips as the Brady bunch and Hanna Minx's boobs in the center square as Alice. It was oddly beautiful.
Oh, youtube! You know me and my love of boobs so well.

Heh.. I just got a whole bunch of NBC promo videos with a HAIM music video in the middle. Youtube knows my guilty pleasure.

So glad they got Harmon back on this. The quality has gone up exactly 300%.

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2014-03-27

This! I've just started getting caught up with this season, now that hulu has finally fixed it's community bug, and I think it's as good as it's ever been. Too bad Chevy had to die.

I actually think the removal of Pierce has been a good thing for the show. I think the writers ran out of ways to develop him after season 2, so he just kept being a cranky, racist, sexist man and I wondered why the characters continued hanging out with him. I've enjoyed Jonathan Banks much better fulfilling the same role in the group.

Shirley has a similar problem as well, in that the writers don't seem to know what to do with her. She's great when she actually gets to do something, but that is increasingly rare.

Shirley is the one thing that was unquestionably better in the non-Harmon season. Harmon doesn't know what to do with her except make her sanctimonious and/or hypocritical, which makes me wonder why she'd want to be friends with all these heathens, or vice versa. But in the non-Harmon season she was more about trying to better herself as a student, businesswoman, and a mom. And, she was actually a friend to her friends, and gave them laughter for laughter.

Cool! I just found out that Dan Harmon grew up in my ex's neighborhood in Brown Deer, Wisconsin. It's a boring little suburb of Milwaukee, but there's some really quirky things that make sense when watching Rick and Morty.. one of the neighbors had a set of full-sized lawn penguins that they'd dress up for every holiday, including Christmas, with the baby penguin as Jesus.

Yellow Lantern - 2014-03-27

I gave up on season four after a few episodes, so I didn't see that, but I have no problem believing it. It's too bad that aspect didn't stick around; Yvette Nicole Brown is far too good to be wasted on a weekly basis like this.

Bort - 2014-03-27

I will admit that the very best episodes of "Community" are Harmon and the very worst are non-Harmon; but in between you've got an awful lot of overlap in quality. Season 4 gets accused of being gimmicky and/or too reliant on callbacks, but if those are bad things I'd like to know why we just watched another D&D episode, and not long ago there was another "campus descends into post-apocalyptic chaos over a game" episode.

\who would redeem himself in a surprising way in the end that became increasingly less surprising. I don't disagree.
